Yes. They are shaped better with these molds/ trays for a classy, more mature looking drink.

are these made in china?

Yes they are made in China. Not what I was expecting. It also does not say anywhere in the packaging that it is BPA free.

Is it possible to get just two square trays?

You will get one square tray and one sphere tray.

Is there a trick to the round trays? the water just pours out the sides when i try to fill it. seat the top mold best i could but it still won’t fil

Here is my 'trick': Ensure the top is completely sealed to the bottom. Press each seal nub and the edges. Set the empty tray on a kitchen scale. Press tare. If you have sealed the top to the bottom correctly, each ball is exactly 50 ml. Using the supplied funnel fill the ball to 50 ml and tare after each ball. Voila! This may seem like a PITA but it isn't and for me it's worth it. I love either the ball or the big cube in my nightly cocktails!
