Pros and cons of bt40
Does exactly what it is intended to do. It has a very clear picture. I thought that having to turn it on rather than being automatic would be a pain but its not a problem as it is mainly for backing up to hook on a trailer. Also because it isnt hardwired it is transferable between veichles which is why i chose this model

Finally a good solution
Works well. Adjustment not possible. It is astounding that only Garmin offers this camera solution for some of their navigation sets. Make sure yours is compatible

Great Product
This item like most Garmin products rates top of the line for doing exactly what it is designed to do, and if anything goes beyond expectations in performance, why a wireless connection from all vehicle display units is not incorporated is beyond me as this is a great relatively inexpensive rear view and reversing camera all in one unit.

Garmin BC 40 reversing camera
Brilliant camera, well worth the money! You just need figure how to switch it on from the satnav if you want to reverse and the satnav is already on! It comes on automatically when the satnav first powers up then goes off when you drive forwards!

Couldn’t pair with my sat nav
Dose not pair with my sat nav, even though I had the correct sat nav and up to date software. May have been a faulty one as I received the box, that look like it had been opened previously.

Works well
Easy to fit. Good picture quality. Save you having to set up another screen as all you have to do is pair with your Garmin sat nav (mine is a 65).This set come with multi plate fixings for most UK cars.Would I buy again .......yes.

the camera mounting solution is quite poor, easy to break and unsafe.
Not happy, Garmin.Pro:* does not require to use special Garmin charging cable with building camera video receivers, it uses Garmin navigator wifi connection instead* music player integrated via Bluetooth with your phone. Really nice, I like it* AUX audio out for car radio. Built-In USB DAC with good sound quality.Contra:* hard to buy, long delivery, about 10 days* declared camera video quality up to 720p is absolutely not true in any conditions and environment, real video quality is near the same as with old Garmin camera BC 30, approx 480x350, even with new BC 40 camera settings as 'high quality' for video* delay in a connection to the Garmin navigation device is 3 to 5sec, it is unacceptable for reverse car camera.* if you have children and use a perfect car saloon with an old Gamnin BabyCam camera in a car (640x480, 30fps, night vision), you cannot use it any more with both DriveSmart 65 with or without Alexa, and with DriveSmart 55. It will not be detected even with its special Garmin charging cable with a built-in camera video receiver. It is very disappointing.* You cannot use AUX audio out together with old BC 30/35 cameras, installed in your car, as AUX is a part of a special Garmin charger cable for DriveSmart 65 with Alexa. You can use either that cable with AUX, or old cable to have cameras installed as BC 30.
