does the bluetooth pairing need a passcode? I'm wanting to connect to an Amazon Echo, and it won't connect if there's a passcode

No Passcode required on mine, i use for audio on my PC.

Does that have audio interface built-in?

The listing claims "You can directly connect to the computer through the USB interface without a driver" so it should be able to function as an audio interface output without any extra kit needed. It has a DAC built in, which I have tested with bluetooth and USB drives and this works well.

To get the full 50+50 Watt output you will need a 24v 5A power supply. I used a SMPSU ( switched mode power supply unit) 12v 5A power supply which I got from Amazon. This gives a max output of 35+35W which is more than enough for my small living room and annoy the neighbours! N.B. you have to wire these PSU's yourself.

Does the aux out disconnect the speakers

The AUX port is input and has to be plugged into the device you're playing music from. If you disconnect the aux cable, you enter bluetooth mode, it's a bit frustrating that you have this manual step every time you want to switch to bluetooth. Anyway, hope this helps
