Do the measure "markings" wash off?

We don't have a dishwasher, so not sure about that scenario, but we've been hand washing it and nothing has come off in a year!

Has anyone measured boiling water with this? Do you think it would crack? NOT from the microwave

I've owned 2 or three of these over 10-15 years; I use it as the boiling-water receptacle for my Hot Shot (the old "original" design, not the newer one) water boiler for coffee & tea, which my preferred Tervis mug is just too tall to fit under. It works fine BUT after 3-4 years of using it 2-3 times a day, it does develop cracks at the base that eventually begin to seep (but not gush!) water. I don't microwave it, so it's just that repeated exposure to boiling water that eventually causes me to have to replace it. I'm getting ready to order two more now, so I have a spare on hand. My assorted Pyrex measuring cups are too "fat" to fit nicely under the dispenser like this ones does. Hope this helps!

When they give you 3 places it is recommended for (refrigerator, freezer, dishwaster) they are trying to avoid saying "NOT MICROWAVEABLE" Well, that's how I interpret it and I removed the label before I used it so I could wash it first, but I'm pretty sure that microwave is not a good idea. There are several times having a 2 1/2 cup measuring cup is a big help and saves a little time, so of course I had to own it. Leave in your cart awhile and see if price comes down...
