LoRa Antenna 915MHz Kit 8dBi Gain Outdoor Omni-Direction HNT Miner Antenna 3.6 ft Helium Hotspot Antenna

I live in the country, I need antennas for everything.I have this 8dbi antenna up about 25 feet (trees everywhere) and I've reached 40 miles away from Dade City to The Villages. Yes it's much better than the 4dbi the miner came with. I'm going up to 60 feet soon in hopes of more $$I'm running a Bobcat miner 300. I will be buying another antenna for a set-up at my unsuspecting sisters house :)Mind your miners!

Bought two of these and compared them. They included basic simulations (2D cuts) of the radiation patterns which checked out.I threw them on the VNA and saw little variation between the two S11s. They came with 6GHz LPFs, I took S21 of those and saw the -3dB cutoff much closer to 10GHz with only -30dB rejection at its best …. I did not include the LPFs in my setup, large variation between the two, nor am I concerned about filtering out X-Band or K-Band signals where I live.

I used an old Direct TV stand as a mount and it setup really nice. I immediately saw returns up about 30k% (no bs). Of course, it is different for everyone, but I'm very happy.

Easy to install increments of HNT increased dramatically from the stock 4dbi.

I have researched many of the "Helium Miner" antennas on Amazon and have found most are actually tuned for the European 868 MHz band. These "work" in the 915 MHz band, but for best results in the U.S. and to get the advertised gain, you really want your antenna to be tuned specifically for the 915 MHz band.I verified with a VNA (see photo) that this particular antenna is indeed tuned for 915MHz with a VSWR of ~1.12 (very good). It is harder to verify the actual gain as there are many factors that influence this, but I can say that I am very happy with its performance. I am outperforming my neighbors' 10 and 12 dBi antennas so far. It also seems well-constructed and is one of the shorter-length 8 dBi antennas that I have found. Overall, I am very happy with it and highly recommend it.

Added to my helium Hotspot. We lives miles from the nearest one, so I thought I would see if it helped. No difference for me. We still might be too far, so its likely not the antenna, just don't expect miracles.

Currently using this with my freedomfi miner and very happy with my results. It’s about 8 meters high. Awesome antenna!

So, Let me start off by saying buying antennas off of amazon is hit or miss I've bought a "few". This model came decently enough packaged , the antenna was not damaged and everything was brand new. Its a well built model and works very well up high. High enough to clear obstacles around me. I first had it on my roof at around 25-26 feet and was only witnessing people a few miles away , but no invalids etc. Once I got it up on my tower I started witnessing people 35-50 km away with clear line of sight. moral of the story and from my personal experience is A. This is a great antenna at 54 feet. & B. I wouldn't buy it unless its going higher then 25 feet even in a flat suburban area, would consider if you were in the middle of Nebraska though!
