I love this book
I love this book. I seriously bought it because it showed up as suggested for me after I was looking for books to learn Russian for a few weeks. This is the book I needed - I needed something to get me to basic pronunciation (not great, just able to sound out words I read recognizably), to get me reading immediately, and to help me by giving me a fast grammar summary so I could start making sentences and guessing what different parts of the sentences meant. This is more a quick guide to get you basically functional then an intensive book to get you fluent and beautifully articulate. I was dating someone who spoke Russian, along with their whole family at the time, and this book took me from "cannot sound out a single long word or figure out what's being said to me" to being able to speak to their younger toddler, understand their mom, dad, and roommates household conversations, start skimming a news article, and start talking to my partner in Russian back. For that I'm intensely grateful, because a more nuanced book covering everything slower would have made things take longer (although were great for follow up study). It's basically a great grammar summary guide if you're short on time and need to know some basics of the language structure immediately. I used this, and learned maybe 300-600 of the most common words, and started functioning. A bonus, the book also had a list of a lot of common words on the back. Also, this book was cheap. It was well worth the money to me. It's definitely not thorough though or for if you want to start out perfect and proper, its more about pointing out the common patterns in the grammar and giving you a general idea.

Just what you need to know
I really enjoyed reading this book for two reasons. First, the Grammar is explained in such a way that it doesn't feel like someone is explaining Grammar! Grammar is most of the time what people hate most about a language. Artemiy makes it just so damn simple as if you're reading an interesting story. The result is that the information sticks to your memory. Second, the book is packed with what you need to know if you are an absolute beginner. It's not a 400 pages book about Russian language. Thanks God! I also liked the diagrams explaining propositions. That was very creative. In short, an excellent concise introductory guide for those who want to learn Russian.

Excellent summary of the rule of the language
A clear explanation of the rules of the language for an adult American English speaker. Looking forward to his next text.

Complete disappointment
the teaching method is really bad, I guess the author doesn't know English well ( I can tell this Even I am Turkish ), you will notice it when you compare the interpretation with dictionary. I do not suggest this book.
