3E should be equivalent to XXW. XW is more like a 2E. This shoe fit pretty good. If you really want wide, get as many E's of X's as you can. It seems like as all shoes are made in foreign countries, consistent size standards do not exist.

Q: Are these shoes non slip?

No, they are not. They are standard rubber bottom shoes, unlike specially designed Slip Resistant shoes.

Q: Does the midtown cap ox shoe have metal or plastic shanks?

Pretty sure they are metal. They have set off airport metal detectors for me, but it’s not often, only at places that have their detectors turned way up.
