Great concept but ultimately flawed by very shoddy quality control.
When I first saw the RDP V2.0 I was very excited at the prospect of having my SNES/Genesis/NES games in portable form but it's not without some major flaws. I had to exchange systems 3 times through Amazon to get a decent one. Below I'll list the pros & cons of my experience so far with the RDP V2.0:Pros:- Very comfortable to hold. Matte finish feels great in the hands.- Speakers are decent (if they aren't distorting, so I have to keep it at half volume at all times) sounding. I'll say they are better than the Hyperkin SupaBoy's.- The screen looks quite nice, and again, far superior to the quality of the SupaBoy's and I believe it is larger. SNES games pop with vibrancy.- Compatibility seems good so far. I tested Contra III, Yoshi's Island, Killer Instinct, Tiny Toons (Genesis), Captain America & The Avengers (Genesis) just to name a few. Please note that you'll need to buy the Retro-Gen adaptor to play Genesis games on the RDP, and also important to know that Genesis games look far worse on the system, very fuzzy and washed out on the screen.- Battery life seems good so far.Cons:- The first unit I ordered had 2 dead pixels. The 2nd,a dead pixel and wavy lines running through the screen. The 3rd exchange had dead pixels AND very distorted speakers.- The 4th unit I have now luckily has no dead pixels. The wavy lines are still there during gameplay, but very slight and easy to ignore.- Which leads to the next issue regarding the 4th unit. During Yoshi's Island the up direction on d-pad has started to get stuck constantly. This renders the game unplayable as you can't aim while shooting. Pushing the d-pad down or right seems to temporarily fix this.Having said all this, I would still choose the RDP over the SupaBoy. The two SupaBoy units I got had awful LCD screens, fuzzy with dead pixels and weak, distorted speakers. Depending if the d-pad issue persists, I may end up returning this RDP unit. It's really too bad, because I love the idea. If you order one, just be cautious and aware of the common issues that these clone units often have.

Great idea, poor execution
Perhaps I received a defected product (in fact, I'm pretty sure I did), but the battery didn't last as long as 8 hours even after the full recommended charges. Also, whenever I would barely even touch the cartridge during gameplay, the game would freeze. However, the most ANNOYING nuisance was the fact that the games would just dim on their own. There's a contrast button on the device, and although I never touched it, the device would dim until it was completely dark. After time, I realized this was especially apparent after I pressed any of the x, y, b, or a buttons somewhat hard (which is impossible to avoid in certain games where you button-mash). This fact was the single most difficult annoyance to deal with. All the others were minor, but this one made it almost impossible to play any game, including playing bosses in zelda: a link to the past.All-in-all, the idea was great, and I really wish the execution was as good. To be able to play the game portably as well as on your TV with your controllers is ingenious. Furthermore, after reading reviews on the other 2 comparable devices that I knew of (including the Hyperkin Supaboy), I heard the others had poor sound quality and button response. I can at least say that the sound was fantastic and the response was immediate. It's just the damn button-mashing problem...Anyway I'm considering purchasing another one in a few months to see if my first one was defective, but if I find that it wasn't defective and the RetroDuo V2.0 always has the aforementioned problems, then it certainly wouldn't be worth any more than $30 to me. However, hopefully I was just unlucky...

A little disappointed ;'-(
I was so excited to finally get my little "retro-gamer" in the mail and I ran to go plug it in and try it out! Unfortunately, this little red machine is not all it's cracked up to be. The cartridge-slot leaves a loose, sloppy feel when the games are plugged in. This leads to my 2nd problem- if you barely touch the cartridge, the system loses the signal and you have to turn it off and start over. If you buy this for a little kid, good luck! They have to sit perfectly still and make sure nothing touches the cartridge! Kind of ruins the "portable" aspect of the game. The 2nd thing is the sound. Very "tinny" sounding, if you know what I mean. Sounds like the speakers are blown right out of the box if you turn it up past 1/2 way! This is "stereo"? Maybe if I could "hear" the speakers I could enjoy the "stereo"! I hope plugging ear phones in solves this for me. Overall, I ended up over-paying for a Retro-Bit console by about $30, the way I figure- I could've just bought a home console from them that plays NES, SNES and Genesis WITHOUT having to buy an adapter for the latter for only $45 from this very web-site! If this machine is going to be this sensitive, I'm just going to have to leave it hooked to the t.v. ;-( If you're buying this to take games on the road with you, look elsewhere...

**Warning for RPG saved files!**
When it works properly it's neat! BUT I've had it erase all my RPG saved files and more then once which was a HUGE upset cause some of those games I had rare items. I found it was more likely to erase the games if I had the charger plugged in while playing. The game would glitch and freeze. So I reset it only to find ALL my saved files gone :( When it wasn't plugged in and charging I didn't seem to have this problem. I experimented once the one game had been wiped out with new save files. BUT I'd say play at your own risk if it's a RPG with saved files. Non saved action or racing games I say go ahead knock yourself out! Maybe my unit is faulty? I tried to contact the seller, but they never did respond. So I wasn't too impressed by that either :/

AWESOME!
Love it, works great, clear easy to use. haven't used it on the tv yet but we also bought the Sega adapter and it works good too. Its huge once you have a game in it but not top heavy like you would think it would be. Awesome I would definitely recommend it.
