Texas Instruments TI-36X Solar Scientific Calculator

I am glad that I was able to find this one because it is no longer available in the local stores. I found it online and the price new tripled since I purchased one several years ago or so. I like the feature converting DMS for my job because it is faster in a fast pace job. We all use these throughout the plant. I like the color and the features better than the newer model that replaced this one.

I love these calculators and have been using this model for years. This model has many metric conversions on it which along with the scientific functions make it a great economical tool for nuclear power use.

I've had this calculator for almost 20 years. Its a "decent" scientific calculator but it's way, way overpriced. For this amount of money you can easily find other TI calculators with multi-line displays that will do graphics. I would imagine only people who are trying to replace this exact model would pay this amount. I got my first TI calculator over 50 years ago and the big feature was it actually did square roots (no trig functions). Cost me almost $100 in 1972! As time goes on I expect more features at a lower price which is not the case for this model.

sold as used, crack in case, but it was not working properly also, there was more damage not good, rip off

I ordered this product for a co-worker. He was very happy that this model was still available. I don't liek the fact that there is a minimum number of words. You're wasting my time. It's more than twenty now.

Unit was in great shape just as advertised. However, it did not come with the cover that the post said was included. This was an annoyance but I don't have the time to spend on trying to rectify that.

I had this calculator in college and when I loaned it to someone, they gave me back a different one. I liked the functions and the feel of this one so I tried to order a replacement when my other one died. Buyers should know that you might get a different version of the TI-36X Solar when you order. The one I received looks like the attached photo. The functions are the same but the look and feel of the calculator is different. At least I'll be back to having the same functions as the one I had in college, even if it looks different.

Love it, but marked up too high in price for a discontinued item.
