Memorex 32020034420 16X DVD-R (100 PK), 100 pack DVD-R Tote

I have been using these Memorex DVD-R's for several years now, in fact I have purchased this same 100-pack spindle at least 2-3 times now. And of all the hundreds of disks I have burned over the years not ONE has had any problems which could be blamed on the disk quality. Not to mention I am just using the stock DVD burner that came with my old 2007 e-machines computer, I am actually amazed at how much life I have gotten out of it and it just keeps going!The only problems I ever have is when I multitask on my computer while burning a disk, but that is not the fault of the disk but rather a side-effect of multitasking while trying to burn a disk. It wouldn't matter what disk I was using, they would all get equally messed up.This may be why a lot of people have reported problems with specific disks, see you have to realize that burning a disk is a delicate process, and if you are mutitasking on your computer, eating up resources, browsing the net, starting/using multiple programs etc etc, your disk will probably get messed up. I always make sure when I am burning a disk that I just leave the computer alone for the 5 mins or so while it does it's thing. Because once I start to use the computer for other things, my buffer starts to reduce, and this ends up causing major problems with the disk image if that buffer ever reaches zero. Plus it slows down the burning progress when the buffer and CPU aren't being fully utilized, so I always leave everything alone. And when I do that, I have never had a single problem with ANY of my Memorex disks.Also the top-side coating for writing works very well. I just use a sharpie, and so far even some of my really old disks still work great. Cause it has been known that using a sharpie on a disk may cause problems down the road due to the harsh chemicals in the sharpie wearing out the coating/layer. Well, Memorex DVD-R layers seem to be pretty robust, cause I have never had that problem.I also have a little suggestion, stick to ONE brand and specific DVD-R! Constantly switching brands and types will probably wear out your drive faster. Like I have mentioned earlier, I have been using these disks for years with my stock DVD burner that came with my off-brand 2007 computer, and it is STILL going strong to this day. Perhaps this is because I always use the same disks, just something to think about.

I have always used Memorex DVD-Rs for storing family home movies. I paid twice the price compared to most other brands in order to continue doing so. On this 100 disc sleeve, I've used about 20 so far and found 1 defect. The defect is visible near the center of the disc. I know some companies have worse records and produce, as the old phrase goes, "a lot of new coasters" for one's drinks. It's a little disconcerting that a company that charges twice as much as others still can't master mass production.

I used these to burn dvds for elderly people. Out of the pkg of 100 there were only 5 that were defective. That's much better than the last ones I bought of a different brand. Very happy with this product.

Always go name brand.

As others have said, the disc "container" is just cellophane wrapped; it is not a fully enclosed plastic cylinder. The top screws off and on, but once the cellophane is removed/torn, then dust can settle on the remaining discs on the spindle. I'm just being careful not to rip the cellophane and "shake" the discs out when I need them before putting the lid back on. That said, these are great discs, I've gone through half of them so far and all are perfect. The price is also quite reasonable, and ultimately, the container doesn't matter.

Product is as was expected -- consistently good and dependable. Delivery service was 4 days better than originally promised. However the delivery instruction for the item to be delivered to the back door of the residence was not followed. Instead, it was delivered to the front door and was exposed to the public at a busy intersection where all could see, leaving me vulnerable to "porch pirates". If I was not home when the item was delivered, it could easily have been stolen.
