Dirt Devil Scropion Plus Corded Hand Vacuum, SD30025B

I don't know what the bad reviews are all about. First off, don't try comparing this product to an item costing several times more. For the price, it does a great job. It came intact with zero issues. I bought it as a spot cleaner and for the carpeted stairs. Light vacuuming jobs. It is perfect. I have no pets, so I can't attest to how well it does on pet hair that sticks to furniture like it was glued. The advantage of a suction rotory brush is that there are no belt to break or having to untangle a string, etc... it's like having a built in protection from vacuuming something you shouldn't. I recommend it. It's as advertised.

Only lasted 7 months. Called Dirt Devil, they stated they will not provide service or a replacement because i bought it from an Amazon seller. Then they had the gall to offer me 15% off a new product. This is my reply. I would never buy another Dirt Devil.product again. The 15 % off does nothing for me. I will tell everyone I know your products lack quality and you refuse to stand by your products. You sell defective products that aren't meant to last.

What I received isn't what's shown in the photo. The photo shows a rotating, power brush. What was shipped was a fixed, immobile brush. Obviously not as effective as a rotating brush

use it for cleaning the boat it get in all tight spots

Sorry this will be a bit lengthy but I think people sometimes appreciate more details. Our cat is pretty neat in his litter box but there is always some dry litter that gets out onto the mat I have underneath his box. I didn't want to use my good upright anymore to vacuum up the litter area so I bought this Dirt Devil Scorpion, the only corded hand vac I could find in an actual store (not an Amazon purchase). I didn't want anything cordless and was skeptical about this one after reading some negative reviews. I used it for the first time today. First, pull out all the cardboard pieces in the box to make sure you have all the accessories. I thought one was missing until I took out the second piece of cardboard and there it was on the bottom of the box. Second, read the instructions, they aren't long and easy to understand. Because of the complaints about the crevice tool breaking I was careful not to pull too hard on it to lift it up and insert it into the nozzle. I can see where it could break if I pulled or pushed too hard. Same with putting it back in place. The beater bar didn't look right when I looked at it as one part was turned sideways. It took me a few minutes to realize I had to straighten it out myself by turning the gray piece and clicking it into place. This was NOT mentioned in the instructions. I thought the suction was good, the litter I had used was so fine like sand (never buying that again) and the crevice tool cleaned the baseboard and crevice between the baseboard and carpet very well. Then I used the beater bar on the carpet in that area to get up any litter that might be in there. It seemed to do the job. Yes, the vac is noisy, aren't they all? I did not use the hose with the crevice tool attached or the dusting attachment yet. There is a gray button to detach the dirt cup that worked fine. The sandy litter emptied fine into the garbage. Then I noticed something I had missed - there was a black foamy piece covering the filter. ??? This was not mentioned in the instructions either. I removed it to shake out the filter into the garbage and think it was just a protective covering for shipping; will check with the Dirt Devil people though. The filter section can be removed from the dirt cup and I shook out into the garbage ok but there is a small amt of dust & that sandy stuff that remained in some of the filter folds. I also wiped out the clear plastic dirt cup with a dry paper towel just to be thorough. All in all I was very pleased with this vacuum and hope it lasts with the proper care and usage. If not, I will update.

I bought this vacuum as the one I have is cordless and the handheld piece dose not hold a charge that long. I needed and wanted something that was not too bulky, heavy and easy to dump/clean. I also needed a good vacuum with good suction as recently I been getting rid of fleas is my home from my cat. Really sucks those little pests up. I love it came ready to use and to put the attachments on is super easy. This is a good investment if you want deep cleaning without having to lug a heavy one around as it gets right in all cervices and baseboards. I also love the job it dose on my couch it looks good as new after vacuuming it. Over all I highly recommend this product it is worth the money.
