Those settings would be inside the software of the mac, and its video out put. You would need to set it to the right display, and then go into your power options and make sure that you uncheck, turn of or sleep when mac is closed.

As far as I know Bluetooth is not an issue here. The item works when you connect it to the proper connector. The issue may be that it fits a ‘C’ connector, which is common to MacBooks but not usually Chromebooks.
