I actually own this case (My local gamestop already has this item selling)It's a hard case, the gold outlines are shiny and the rest is clear plastic.

Yes, it did. I had just purchased the 3ds XL for my son and it fit nicely and looks great!

It's gold on clear. The pikachu design and trim are a very reflective gold, and the rest is transparent. I know this for a fact because I am holding the case in my hands right now.
