Stupid-Proof Audio In/Out
For a little over $6 with sales tax, this is a really simple device that solved a very large problem with my laptop computer. A few months ago my laptop got accidentally dropped on its side. There wasn't any noticeable damage to it other than the fact that my external headphone jack would no longer work. The internal speakers worked fine and I already had some Bluetooth headphones, but waiting for them to recharge started to get annoying after awhile. I had two choices. I could either take the laptop in for servicing and pay at least $50-$100 to have the problem (hopefully) fixed or pay $6 for this little gizmo and use it to connect to my headphone.Well, the cheapskate in me finally won out. Considering that my laptop is over 5 years old and about at the end of its lifecycle anyway, the decision was a no-brainer, assuming that the device actually worked as advertised. To put it simply, IT WORKS. The device took about 5 seconds to install. Windows 8.1 automatically detected the device and installed the appropriate driver immediately. Less than a minute later I plugged-in my headphones and they have been working perfectly ever since. This is one of those rare tech stories that starts out with trying to save money and actually results in a happy ending. Cheap. Free, fast delivery via Prime. Stupidly simple to install. Works exactly as advertised. I simply can't think of a single negative thing to say. I would complain that there were no instructions if it needed any, but you just plug it in and it works. There's your directions.

works well. kinda bigger than it needs to be.
I bought this USB adapter for use in my Raspberry Pi project. The product is so wide that it covers up one of the usb ports next to it. This is probably not an exclusive Pi problem, lots of computers have there USB ports close together. Be aware that this product is quite wide and may block neighboring ports.UPDATE: company contacted me and offered me a full refund on the product. I am not taking the refund but nice that they asked. Product works fine. Just too wide for my purposes.

Excellent product, very easy to install.
Worked very well on my Dell Poweredge T310 server. These machines don't come with sound, of course, and I wanted a way to test out some of my programs with sound, and this was the simplest and best answer. Just plugged it in, hooked up a speaker, and that was all!! The sound is pretty good, not like what you'd get with a sound card, but definitely better than what I was expecting. All in all, for the money you can't beat it!

this is a great workaround. I have no complaints about the audio ...
The audio output jack in my laptop quit working, so I needed to find an alternative to continue being able to listen to music. Luckily, this is a great workaround. I have no complaints about the audio quality. One point of caution is that the outer portion is just large enough so that if you have 2 USB ports that are located side-by-side, you will not be able to use the other USB port. This wasn't a problem for me since I have another one on the opposite side of the laptop, but just something to keep in mind. Also, wait until you plug everything in before putting your headphones on. If you put your headphones on and wait to plug in the USB, you will get a sharp sound that, while not by any means painful, is not pleasant.OVERALL: If you're looking for a way to get around a broken audio output jack, I highly recommend this.
