Do not buy - major headaches!
Made the mistake of purchasing this mower, after viewing good reviews. It arrived with a sticker on the box: "Proudly assembled in GA, USA." Upon opening it, however, I found that the spindle for the pull cord (inside the bolted on plastic motor cover) was smashed such that several pieces had dislodged, and the cord could not be pulled. Given that nothing else was damaged in the least, this appeared to be a factory defect rather than damage from transit.Following warranty procedures, I called the company, which put me in touch with two Poulan Pro service centers in my general area. Neither service center works with Poulan, however! The woman at the first service center just said, "Oh no," the moment I told her I had bought a Poulan. She immediately recommended returning it and buying a different model, and said they don't work with Poulan on warranty service, despite what the Poulan "specialists" told me the evening before. I thanked her for her assistance and called the second (supposedly Poulan-supported) service center. The man there told me he stopped working with Poulan many months previously, because the company doesn't pay him on time for any of the work he does. He said, "I've told them multiple times to de-list me from their website," and was not pleased when I told him that as of last night, he was still listed as a valid service center. This is not a serious company. I was inclined to believe the more positive recommendations, but not any longer. Having multiple experienced professionals telling me to run away from this brand has convinced me.

This Poulan Pro mower is a fantastic bang for the buck!
The mower was received one day before it it was guaranteed to arrive. Once taken out of the box, it was assembled, and oil and fuel were added -- all in less than ten minutes. *Note: as others mentioned, it's a bit of a pain to get the oil into the engine -- a flex funnel is just about mandatory. However, you can find them for about $1.99, so no big deal.I know that you can't always trust advertising, but just like they reported on their website, starting the Briggs and Stratton 500e was as simple as prime and pull. The engine actually fired up and idled properly on just one pull. Cutting grass was a snap too. I had a little issue with bogging down, but my grass was quite tall (the twenty+ year-old one died mid-cut), and the grass was wet too. I also had the wheels set a little low, because it cut the grass really short! But what a difference from my old mower. I mow a 1/4 acre, and even with front wheel drive, it was a beast to push around the yard. Not so my new Poulan Pro. It's so light, it's almost like you are not even mowing. The Briggs engine is relatively quite, and unlike my old mower, I was able to cut the yard on one tank of gas.I hope this inexpensive little mower makes it for the long haul, because I have to say -- I am really liking it so far.......

Easy To Use, Runs Well
Assembled with ease. Simply fold out the handle, add the 2 included bolts and nuts to the handle, tighten with a 13mm wrench, then tighten the middle handle wing bolts and adjust the wheels to your preference. Add the included 15.5 ounces of SAE 30 oil, fill with gas, prime three times, pull the starter rope one time. It is that easy. It starts very easily, runs smoothly, much easier on fuel than my last mower and much easier to maneuver. I don't see any reason why this machine will not provide tears of dependable service. As a side note, and a bit of free advice if you will: Small engines such as this one can greatly benefit from either ethanol-free fuel or at lease a quality ethanol treatment mixed with your gas. I personally have used Sta-Bil Ethanol treatment for several years now, and every machine I use it in starts on the first pull every spring. Prior to using treated gas I was replacing carburetors about every other season and dealing with the old familiar up and down revving of the motor. I hear many stories about something running good for one season then becoming a problem after winter storage, and a good ethanol treatment will solve these problems.

How odd is this
To start I'm easy to please when it comes to customer service and issue. Also I had the same model mower from 6 years ago and it did everything I needed and worked well even though I was to perfect about maintain it. So, my old mower finally died. Sold it for parts and ordered the latest version but same model. Came as expected. Easy to set up and run right out of the box. One small change on the motor where you add the oil. A little harder to get to and read but it works. I go to mow the yard and on my first run 30 feet in the mowers is shooting clippings all over itself and back at me from the mulch door top rear side. So I stop. look it over. Notice that it looks Ok but the fit is not very tight from what I'd expect. I can see up to 1/4 inch gaps around the plastic to the metal deck cut out. I looked around online and nothing pointing to an issue there. Pictures and movies where door is shown seem like a tight fit. Next I call the warranty number and get the level 1 support questions. Person on the other end can not understand what I'm talking about and keeps assuming I don't know how to use a mulching mower; "did you remove the door? did you raise the mower too high, did you add the side discharge piece correctly?" Uggg, after 30 minutes of this I asked for a new door or I was returning it to Amazon.Door came. looks almost the same. I figured I'd tray it. Swapped out (no instructions thank you) and same issue. Picture are of the new door. Same gap. I try it any way. Same hail of clippings. So I MacGyver'ed it with some duct tape. Worked just great then. Normal level of dirt and clippings on the mower and me.Stand by for next chapter... return it or call Poulan again???Update: returning to Amazon.

Good product, if you have a big or middle size yard , go for a powerful one. This one is not powerful enough. When lawn is a little bit wet, it will stucked and stop work.

Great for smaller yards
I am only mowing .33 acres so this is a perfect fit for my yard. The mulching feature works great, would recommend to others looking for a push mower.
