Yes, it COULD be messy, but only if you don't plan ahead. This is an AWESOME product and I have tried shavers, razors, scissors, etc. And this beat them all hands down. Removes all pilling in one good swipe an I was amazed. It did take me over an hour for 4 sweaters but they had tons of pills. I put two velour beach towels across my bed. The velour helped keep the removed fuzz from floating away. I wish I had taken pictures as I worked because it turned 4 unwearable sweaters into loved items again. There MAY be dust, but with the velour towels it kept everything on them, and I just took them outside and shook them when done then a quick 10 minutes on a cool dryer setting. Trust me, give it a try. If you don't like it then free returns. What have you got to lose?

La probé en una prenda nueva incluso antes de meterla a lavar y fue una gran decepción. Lástima que este producto no entré en garantía.

Works as described, works great. Just be careful not to use it too heavily as that actually causes pills and don’t go over the fabric too much or you will wear the fabric right down into a hole. But used cautiously - works like a dream. The one item will probably last forever too. Love it. Use it on everything.

The stone definitely has a sulphur smell and sheds black dust as you work. That said, it still did a great job reviving a thrifted sweater. Just wish it came with some sort of durable case.
