Ditch the cords, keep the power.
I love this saw! Typical Dewalt quality. Very lightweight but plenty of power. The battery system charges fast and holds a charge. It is interchangeable with their leaf blower and trimmer too.I have used it for long periods and never miss the power of a corded saw. It is great for working at my farm, away from outlets. Full sawing power without the hassle of a cord or need for a generator in the woods. Since I bought it, my corded saw has seen no action. My only knock on the saw was the difficulty I had in putting on the blade- once on though, the thing has been perfect.

Best saw I’ve used
This saw is more powerfully then my corded rigid. All other reviews are true, super great piece of equipment. Only complaint is I don’t like the location of the safety button. But that wasn’t enough to knock a star off because the sheer power and consistency of this saw after my first 2 months of use was very impressive to say the least. This and the 60v saws all are my first Dewalt battery powered tools and Im extremely satisfied with both. The reviews that say “buy this saw” are right. I know there are cheaper alternatives, but you get what you pay for. I own a lot of rigid tools, cordless drill, multi tool, corded skill saw, sander. I love them all, warranty is great, but the reviews scared me away from their cordless versions of the skill saw or saws all. I would have prefered to have interchangeable batteries but I couldn’t be happier with these tools. Saws all will be my new outdoor brush chainsaw because brush loosen chainsaw blades with the bouncing. Skill saw can vut with more power the my corded one. Buy this saw, but don’t leave it in an unlocked vehicle. It’s awesome

Works great, fast and smooth cuts
So, I had the DCS391 and was cutting 3/4 inch plywood bamboo. I had burn marks, it would stall and it just couldn't power through. I had to get something stronger so I tried the DCS575T1 Flexvolt 60V MAX. Granted I did not buy from Amazon. Home Depot had a sale in December and I met a rep from Dewalt selling the saw. They were doing a promotional sale so I got a free battery (60V) with the set. Now I have two batteries and an extra fast charger (it has a fan in it to keep it cool!). A really good deal! Well, they sold out in my area quickly so I had to drive 30 miles to get it. Anyway, this saw is great!!! Yesterday I made an 8-foot jig to cut some ONE-INCH thick plywood bamboo. It cut it smooth and fast. Did 20 cuts that were 8-feet long. Really nice! This bamboo is really high end, $250 a sheet, and very hard. No trouble at all with a 60 tooth blade. The Dewalt blade I had to order because they don't have them in the stores. This is a new design so I took the chance and glad I did. Right now I'm like a walking advertisement for Dewalt when I go to jobs. Everything is yellow.

The best cordless saw you can get, as powerful as corded, or even more.
Nothing more I can add about this saw that hasn't already been said, I had a Bosch 7 1/4 1300 watt (220v) corded saw and this one really feels more powerful and comfortable than the Bosch corded one. I'm completely in love with my new saw and would get the whole DeWalt flex volt line right now if I could afford it!Mind it's quite heavy, so you might want to go with the smaller 20v version if you really don't need a saw this large. I wanted a saw that could get any job done, so I'm really ok with this model and it's fancier too.

Great saw. Buy and cut the cord.
Great saw. Not as powerful as I hoped. I was wanting a cordless saw as I want to use it far from a power outlet next to my portable sawmill. I knew the 20 volt models wouldn't have enough power for me. A lot of reviews I read said it was as powerful as a corded saw... it absolutely is not. I cut kiln dried hardwood as well as green hardwood with this saw. It doesn’t come close to the power of a direct drive corded circular saw, but frankly it is close enough for me. I’m very satisfied with it. It has some kind of anti kickback feature that makes it very safe, but it is annoying when I want it to power through a cut on slab wood I want to chop up off my sawmill. When the saw binds it won't restart with resistance on it. It just won’t do it. That said, in framing softwood lumber it’s got plenty of power. Softwoods won't tax the motor or dull the blade anywhere near the way hardwoods will. You won't notice the difference in power compared to a corded saw in framing lumber. Great balance of power, weight and run time for all typical applications. The base plate on the saw is also not remotely aligned with the blade. It is hugely annoying to try and use the base plate to align your cut. You just have to look at the blade. I don’t understand how this is possible to screw up in design. The blade it comes with is about as thin as a sheet of paper. Throw it away before attaching a battery. It is so flimsy you can’t cut straight with it. Save it in case you want a super thin kerf blade. It’s in a class unto itself. I guess that’s how they get their super high reported run time and cuts / charge performance. The blade doesn't hardly remove any wood. It also lacks the stiffness to be functionally useful.

This works great!
I had a professional grade circular saw that I purchased about 3 months before I saw this one was being produced now. With the exception of my table saw, I am now off of the cord on all of my power tools. It is wonderful.I have used this saw to cut down sheet goods and boards mainly, but I have also used it to rip and crosscut 2" - 5" slabs of green wood (red oak, white oak, and maple). Of course, when cutting the 4" - 5" slabs I must flip them over. I have been very surprised at the performance of this saw. They have the screw drive model now, but it is a bit heavier and I really don't have a need for it.
