Removu K1 All-in-One 4K Video Camera Stabiliser (RM-K1) Black

THe unit heats up and freezes routinly after being on for ten miuntes. I replaced the SD card and updated the firmware per the instructions on their website with no change. If it worked properly it would be pretty good. When it is working it performs well but i have not had it working for more than half an hour before a freeze up. The only fix once it locks up is to remove the battery.

Same quality as the case that comes with the gimbal. This ones handy for snowboarding

Received this during the first week of March and so far it has surpassed my expectation. The versatility and portability of this camera is excellent for those that likes to do "run n gun" shooting like me. First impression is that this is super light and easy to hold. I also have a FreeVision Vilta for my GoPro and the Removo shoot - no bluetooth/wifi set up and connections needed. u K1 is just so much easier to operate under short setup time. This turns right on and you can begin shooting. the size and weight is perfect and really easy to hold for many hours of shooting.After playing with it for a few hours, I went back to review the clips and I must say it was on par with my expectations. Using the default mode, the picture was crisp and smooth. The sound was much better than I expected with only the builtin mic. Later I tried using an external stereo mic that I had before and the results were good. This is important if I'm going to be using this as a vlogging tool. The gimbal itself was easy and intuitive. Every time you change modes, it will display on the LCD screen so for beginners like me, it makes it easier. I haven't try the other video functions such as time lapse but they seem intuitive.Things that I liked:1. Size, weight, ergonomics2. LCD screen - Don't have to use an external preview device such as a phone3. 1/4" mount at the base of the unit4. Replaceable batteries5. USB charging - No proprietary power supply to carry.6. Buttons are all in the right places7. Good builtin mic quality - with external mic options8. Much longer battery life than the next competitor (big requirement for me)9. The gimbal device locks up when not used10. Great video and picture quality.11. Gimbal provides great stabilization and smooth videosWhat could've done better:1. A sturdy travel case - why does this only come with a pouch? The Removu S1 comes with a solid case to product the product but not available for the K1.2. More mounting options - although it does have a tripod mount hole, I wish it had some sort of Rosette mount options on the side so I can mount it to a backpack strap or on a suction cup mount horizontally.3. Lack of cheaper options for accessories. The accessory pack is offered at $50 from Removu but for me, I don't need the mic and cleaning cloth. I wish there was a (cheaper) option to buy a LCD screen protector and the camera cover.4. This camera does shoot in 4k at 30FPS but I wished it had an option for 24 FPS. Cinematic shots doesn't feel natural at 30 PFS. Hopefully this can be fixed through a firmware update5. Video to video comparison, my GoPro Hero 6 gives me better picture (although not by much) than my K1. I guess this is due to the GoPro had a slightly better sensor than the K1.6. No optical zoom. Would've been nice to have this option as the competitor has zoom functions, making it a more flexible camera. The K1 does have an optical zoom function but I rarely use to keep the picture noise down.Overall it is a great product and the first of its kind when comes to the portability, flexibility and ease of use. It has a great quality camera and stabilization system. The sound is solid and the pictures where great, which makes it a great vlogging tool. It does have some limitations and drawbacks (which most are fixable) but for a device at this price point, it is a great tool to have in the arsenal.
