PERFECT for Aeropress
Update: 2016-01-29 0416 PM The cup is still awesome and I use it almost every day, but the paint has started to flake off. I'll eventually find a way to take all the paint off. It's extremely fragile paint. Not enough to deduct a star for me.I wanted a cup that would not burn me when full, not chill my coffee when filled, and match the unwatered-down maximum capacity of an Aeropress plus some sugar and creamer. That is exactly what I got here. This cup replaced my starbucks extreme carabiner tumbler as my primary at home cup. This cup isn't supposed to fill that style of travel mug's niche. That cup is basically closer to a little thermos than an actual coffee cup. This one is the refined at home version. The pictures don't do it justice. Firstly, the bottom edges are nicely rounded. They aren't as sharp as they look in the promo photos. Secondly the cup feels absolutely great in your hands, and being vacuum sealed it feels pleasantly like cool satin finished ceramic, even when there's near boiling coffee inside. It only gets warm up near the rim. This is good for two reasons, firstly it feels great to drink, like every last molecule of coffee is either going into your mouth or back down the wall of the cup, as opposed to some hanging out in some middle ground, like inside some decorative edge or lid threads. Secondly, this warmth gives your lips a visceral indicator of how hot the coffee is inside, as opposed to some double wall mugs where they give the startling impression after the fact of being made of ice while being full of molten lead. :) This cup gives you warning, without spoiling the ending :)The bottom of the cup is nicely logoed, slightly recessed, and has a flush aluminum plug presumably to maintain the vacuum. When you place it on a surface only the soft edged outer ring makes contact. I count that as a feature. No chance of scratching your nice wood table etc.The inside bottom of the cup is completely rounded. There is no point on the inside, like a wine glass, and also no corners, like a typical coffee cup. This to me is also a feature, it means easier cleaning, and faster mixing. The cup is great for home made coco too because of this, as this bottom operates a bit like a decanter and the coco grounds fall into one spot. This is also true for coffee grounds if your combination of filter style and grind leaves any detectable grit. Also if you're the type to just reuse your coffee cup a few times as opposed to actually washing it between every use, you'll like this style of bottom a lot as it dries with a very clean look on the inside. The lid is not meant to be a spill proof seal, it's meant to save heat, and at this job it is very good. Do not put the lid straight on after making the coffee and expect it to be cool enough to drink any time soon. You will have to take the lid off when you get there and let it cool a bit. I take a couple sips and then put the lid on.The lid is designed completely around the cup, meaning that the cup is not adapted to the lid in any way. No indents, no threads, and if you ever lose the lid, the cup won't feel like it's missing something. There is a little trick to putting it on. Hook the plastic flap (opposite the drinking hole) to the edge of the cup with your thumb, and then press down the front until it's flush with the rim. The lid should end up tilted relative to the level bottom of the cup. That is the best way I've found. Don't worry if the thumb end submerges as that end of the cup is water tight almost up to the halfway point of the lid.The sliding translucent cover for the drinking hole is easy to use one handed, clicks into place at both ends of travel, and is easily removed for cleaning. You could probably get away with not using that portion of the lid at all but of course you'd sacrifice some emergency spill mitigation and some heat preservation, but on the other hand it would drink faster and cool a little faster. And of course as I said the Aeropress end slips nicely into the cup and does not hold enough to over fill the cup, which was the whole reason a person of my size (6'4" 250) went looking for a 10 ounce coffee cup hehe. I have learned that in this arena, it's about quality not quantity :)Update 2015-04-02 0341 PM:Still totally love this cup for all the reasons stated above. Just sayin :)

5 stars because I like its clean look
This cup has a very clean look. The lid has three parts which can be separated for washing: a clear plastic part, an opaque plastic piece and a flexible ribbed gasket. The gasket helps keep the lid on snuggly. For me, the lid allows leak-through of the liquid when tipped. As the gasket is stretchy, be careful when pressing the top down on the cup or you could end up pressing the lid too far.The cup keeps my tea hot for 2.5 hours, but your time may be less depending on whether or not you keep the drinking slot uncovered. The base 1/3 of the cup remains room temperature. The upper 2/3 of the cup gets slightly warm, but not uncomfortably warm.I found this cup only holds eight ounces of fluid if you put the lid on - so keep this in mind when filling your cup with hot liquid.I wanted to give the cup 3.5 stars because I like its clean look, but it does not hold 10 ounces of fluid with the lid on and the lid can be pushed down in the cup if you are not careful.

Functions perfectly; Lid needs work.
This is the small insulated travel mug I've been searching for! It keeps my coffee so warm, I have to let it sit with the lid off for 5 min., otherwise it won't cool enough for me to drink. I'm only giving 4 stars because the lid does take some getting used to - there is definitely a learning curve. But, once you get the hang of it, it works. The other negative is that the stainless doesn't seem to be as high quality as others on the market. However, everything else is massive. Overall, I'm satisfied and ordered a second cup to have on hand, as I hate room-temp coffee more than stains or a finicky lid.

Excellent heat retention
Excellent heat retention. Perfect if you find that you throw away a lot of half-cups of coffee because they get cold. I use it daily and love sitting out on my deck sipping hot coffee without it going cold before I'm done.I don't use the lid much, partly because I prefer drinking from the cup directly, and partly because it's a mediocre design. That nice smooth lip that makes it great to sip from doesn't have an internal edge for the lid to seat to, so it is a bit tricky to get it positioned just right. The whole lid can easily flip to a vertical position, which is problematic with a full cup of hot coffee. The lid is the reason that I deducted one star; it doesn't matter to me, but if you're using it as a travel cup it might be annoying.

This is a cute coffee mug. Looks sleek, and keeps my coffee hot for a good while. The top is a bit annoying to put on, and sometimes takes a few tries for me to get right.

Great coffee mug replacement
This is the perfect coffee mug if you want one without a handle. I never use it with the lid, so I have no idea how well it insulates.

Note this is a painted cup!!!
Nice cup, liked the way it doesn't get hot to the touch, hence two stars. However, paint started coming off rather quickly, so had to get rid of it. Guess I'll buy a YETI stainless cup instead.

Good insulated mug
This insulated mug actually works and keeps drinks hot for longer than you'd normally need. The lip is quite fine so it is nice to drink from. The lid is a bit of a liability if you try to fit it on the move or take it off. It works fine when you're sitting comfortably! there is no room for my nose when the lid is on so I end up not bothering with the lid once I am back at my desk. the volume is relatively small; it would not hold a normal size coffee you get from a coffee shop in a cardboard mug.
