These are the best "channel lock" style pliers on the market. You get better torque with this design than the standard style. They also have an extra skinny jaw, which allows you to use them some places where you can't use the normal style. Of course the auto adjust feature is the best part. Just clamp down on the item you want and the cam kicks over and gives you a tight grip. Sure these are a fair amount more expensive than a standard pair, but if you use them often, then these are worth every penny. I have been using a pair for over two years now in an oil refinery and I simply love them.

I've been working in the trades since the mid 70's. I began working professionally as a marine electrician in 1996. I always bought high quality tools, mostly Klein tools for electric work; but, I switched to using Knipex electrical tools exclusively about a decade ago. Klein makes a good tool, but Knipex smokes them. These particular channel locks will spoil you. Once you get used to the self setting jaws, you'll never want to go back to the type that you have to set manually for each job.

They are super handy, however they don't open wide enough and the lock that is on them is to lock them closed for when not in use not to lock as adjusted setting. I wish they had more sizes and I'm sure in time they will. They are quite over priced but for what I was doing with them I would pay it again as it does come in very handy. They are my go-to pliers. I would only recommend getting then if u have to adjust the jaw opening many times when using a set of pliers repeatedly. If not get the originals cuz u prolly won't care for them.

Best pliers I owe. Wish they came in more sizes other than 10". Great buy.

This is such a nice plier. The self adjusting function works really well; does not slip. I will buy the smaller version if they ever make one. I would love for Knipex to make a self adjusting plier wrench as well.

I really like Cobra pliers, but these are not that great to me. The jaws are a little off to the side and don't close perfectly. Next, it says they lock, but that is not really the case. You can grip onto a pipe, but they will not lock on like the regular cobra pliers will. The lock will not do anything but keep them closed while storing. I can see why some will like them, but at the price they cost, I will stay with regular Cobra pliers. I wanted to like them though.Update after one year of use- I have found lots of uses for these pliers. I changed my rating to 5 stars. They do work well and I was probably to hasty in my first review.

These are not nearly as useful as the Cobras for turning pipe, but for things that don't require a ton of leverage, these things are the best. Super quick grip with the quality of any knipex product. Highly recommend.

Not quite what we expected and a bit pricey.

La herramienta llegó puntual y en buen estado.Una vez liberado el seguro, la herramienta tiende a abrirse.Esta es la parte útil y que debe a su nombre, ya que basta cerrar la mano para tenerla en la medida que uno vaya necesitando.Su mordaza abre menos que las otras Cobra de igual medida, y esto se debe a que el muelle del mango limita la apertura.El beneficio de esta Cobra, es el de poder ajustar rápidamente durante su uso y esto hace descansado el procedimiento.

Compared to the non-locking one this one can maintain some grip when releasing and this is useful in some cases.

Al principio tenía mis dudas cuando la saqué por que no se queda apretada, después vi que es más práctica para agarrar y girar cosas por que no necesitas setearla ya que se regresa sola
