Excellent quality, good value; need front lens caps
This is my third pair of Nikon binoculars, second in the Premier series. The 8x32 midsize are superb optically, comparing favorably to the Germans at half the price, though kind of heavy. Wanted a better pair of pocket binocs for a while, and these fit the bill. Optics again quite comparable to Zeiss and Leitz, and close to Swarovski (IMHO) for center and edge sharpness, brightness and lack of color fringing - and *so* much cheaper! Some pincushion distortion, but that's normal and inoffensive.Far-end focus adjustment with little or ring finger takes some getting used to, and is a little stiff at near-zero temperatures - that might get smoother with use. Off-center fold feels awkward, but a fair exchange for the good mechanisms and tiny folded size. Unusual diopter adjuster design is nice. Extensible eyecups very smooth. Hinges feel a little weak, but time will tell. The included case, with magnetic clasp, is well-made, though would prefer Velcro clasp rather than having to thread belt through the loop. Only real annoyance is lack of objective lens caps (eyepiece caps are included). These are positioned as pocket binoculars, and my pockets aren't that glass-friendly. Brought this to Amazon's attention, pointing out that although their ad doesn't specify caps, Nikon's own site does say that supplied accessories include lens caps, which sort of implies all four. When I called Nikon, they said that they don't even make front caps for their compact binoculars. Weird - risking the lenses of their fine product to save maybe twenty cents on $400.With typical courtesy, Amazon invited me to return them at their expense, or to make other accommodation. Not their fault (though the ad might be clarified) and they are otherwise ideal for my needs, so I kept these excellent binoculars. Eventually was able to get a second pair of eyepiece caps, which fit almost perfectly and can (barely) be threaded into the same straps for full protection when not using the case.Five stars for the actual product, but they really ought to include front lens caps.

Great view for a compact
Grear clear view even in dim light condition. Is a bit heavier than expected for a compact, however still good to keep in a jacket or pant pocket. Magnification is great, no issue to keep steady and locating object of interest.

Super nice compact binocs
After a trip to Costa Rica a few years ago, I suffered serious envy from my friend's Leica compact binoculars. I had a set of compact Nikon Travelite binoculars (about $100) which were not even close in quality. The Leica compact binoculars did suffer one flaw: a very small fussy exit pupil that make it difficult to get the subject in view quickly and reliably; a must for birding. In addition, the Nikon Travelite Binoculars were my second set of the exact same binoculars, since the first one (and then the second one too) were ruined by exposure to water and were more expensive to repair than buy new. Not a great investment.I decided this time to invest in a pair of binoculars of higher quality that would last, and also offer joy in the usage of them for birding. The Nikon Premiers seem to have a much larger exit pupil, and offer at least equal optical clarity edge to edge. They are great binoculars and very easy/fast to use. They are light, waterproof, small but well made and durable. They have a 25 year warranty (or is it 15?) that tells you they are not disposable.Highly recommended.

A fine piece of equipment
A fine piece of equipment. Good size and feel in hand. Optics are superb and works well with or without glasses. I would strongly suggest anyone in the market for high end optics consider Nikon Premier over the MUCH pricier major brands. It is curious that the Premier series is not carried by sporting outlets in the US and I was unable to handle a pair to compare with Leica and other quality binoculars. I relied on other buyer's comments and am thankful. These glasses are a third of the cost and meet my needs and expectations. You will not regret purchasing Nikon. I was not paid or am affiliated with any company. I just appreciate good gear.

Quality product. I didn't realize when we purchased that the binoculars were coming from Japan. The only problem we have is we are not sure if the warranty card can be delivered.

Very satisifieed
I bought the Nikon Premier LX-L 10x25 for a trip to Africa. Most of my traveling companions purchased a different brand with a 10x42 power. Their binoculars were heavier and more bulky which resulted in leaving them at camp most of the time. I put mine in my pocket and took them everywhere. The difference in power was hardly noticeable and dusk and evening clarity was outstanding. I am very satisfied with this product.
