Nice little tool for quick vacuum jobs
Bought this to keep in my home office, which by necessity is shared with our cat litter box. This is perfect for keeping the floor tidy. I didn't really think it through about how the handheld vac is the "engine" for the standup vac, but it makes sense. As such, it doesn't have the most powerful suction in the world, but it is fine for cat litter, tracked-in dirt, pet hair.In it's standup mode, it's light and maneuverable. Very easy to use.The storage area for the picked-up material is easy to access and clean, albeit a little small. You definitely need to clean out after every couple of uses.Overall, it serves my needs fine. I just recognize that this isn't a Dyson or a Shark...it's not the high king of suction and more about the quick, easy jobs.

Lightweight, great suction, good battery life!
I have to admit, this was going to be my short-term vacuum until I could buy a "nicer" one but it has turned out to be my favorite and I will not be replacing it! I own a full-size Dyson for my carpet as my last house was mostly wall-to-wall carpet and I have 2 cats and dog, plus a child and a husband. We recently moved and our kitchen and main living is all tile and hardwood, which I've found our Dyson doesn't do a very good job at cleaning. I really needed something I could maneuver quickly and easily across my kitchen and family/dining roomsSo I did some research based on my own key criteria: 1) battery/plug in charging with good battery life, 2) works well on hardwood & tile floors, 3) stick/lightweight, 4) attachments allowing for handheld or "dust-buster" style use, 5) priced under $200. I took my search to Consumer Reports and I found this article: Best Vacuums for Hardwood Floors". After scrolling through and using my own criteria set, I narrowed my shopping down to the 'Shark Rocket Complete with DuoClean HV380' (# 5 on their list) and the 'Black+Decker Smartech HSVJ520JMBF27' (# 6 on their list). After reading reviews on Amazon for both vacuums, and after weighing how important each of my criteria was to me, I decided that the cordless criteria was important and I really liked the idea of the pop-off dust-buster feature of the Black + Decker. I bought it, it arrived 2 days later, and I've been so happy! The suction power is really impressive and it picks up everything from fine cat hair, to chunks of dog food. A little bonus is that it also can stand upright on its own, without leaning against anything or having to be hung up (something the Dyson stick vacuums cannot do!)It has multiple settings, each one adding power and using a little more battery life. I can get all of my kitchen on the lowest setting, no brush, then for the dining and family rooms I turn the higher suction setting, still no brush, and if I need to get food from under the table or do a quick run on the entry rug or hallway runner, the brush turns on automatically, and it does a great job! I leave it plugged in overnight and usually after running it through my kitchen (1st setting), dining room, family (2nd setting), and hallway + carpet runner (2nd & brush setting) which is around 1,500 sqft, the battery is about 2/3 spent. The canister is not large, but I don't have to dump it until I'm done. Cleaning it is super easy, everything pops off quickly and snaps back in without much effort. I love the pop-off dust buster for any cobwebs, window sills, or bugs! The bonus is that the whole thing is so lightweight and easy to use that my 5 year old is obsessed with it and is always asking if he can use it! I won't say no to my kid wanting to clean the house!I've already told multiple co-workers about this vacuum and I never thought I would be so excited about something so silly, but it really has made keeping up with a house full of hairy, messy beings so much easier! I am no domestic goddess, but now at least I feel like you could show up unannounced to my house, take off your shoes, and not step on anything (except my kid's toys, or a dog toy, or my husband toys...) :)Just buy it, and thank me later!

My best birthday gift to myself!
I've had this over a year and love it - it has amazing suction - it's light and a joy to use - the head pivots easily and fits under kitchen cabinets without bruising them. It is a great example of intelligent design - all the parts you want/need to clean not only come out easily, but a designed to come apart simply. Not only that, but they are designed so that there is only one right way to put them back together. You don't need a manual. I have got in the habit of dumping out the waste cup and cleaning the pleated filter with a toothbrush nearly every time I use it. The roller brush head also gets regular maintenance - due my long hairs getting wrapped around it. When I first got it I was frustrated by how fast the cup filled up, but realized that it's cordless, light, a pleasure to use, it works really well, and so I am cleaning the floors more often, the house is cleaner!! Maintaining this appliance well is a small price to pay.I decided early on not to it on rugs or carpets - the roller bar is too soft for them, so the big guys come out for those, and we recently got rid of ~400 sq ft of wool rugs due to an infestation of clothes moths which I am still coping with. We now are showing off rather than hiding our wide plank, golden popple floors which we restored in our 160 year old farmhouse. My husband brought a Kirby vacuum into our marriage - it is now 35 year old& weighs a ton but it's the best house vacuum I've used and has great accessories. But it's a pain to use due to its weight and that it falls over constantly when the bag is just over half full. I also have an canister Bissell which is discontinued and there are no new models like it for ease of use, While it doesn't have the suction the Kirby has, it has tools on board and an a long telescoping wand that makes cleaning all floor, wall and upholstered surfaces a breeze. So the Kirby lives in the basement, the BIssell on the second floor, where the bedroom rugs need cleaning and the B&D is my main man for the first floor.I got in the habit of vacuuming the bathroom/laundry room whenever I do laundry, cuz you know something's gonna end up on the floor, and that gives me an option to continue cleaning after the load is in. Since cleaning is not my favorite task, anything to sneak up on is is good. The tricks you learn as you get older!!

Good vacuum until battery doesn't hold a charge
Like how it works, very portable however battery life is a big Con. Bought mine a year ago and now it only holds about 5 mins of usage at best on a low pile carpet and hardwood floors. I have replaced filters, etc, just doesn't hold much of a charge.

Good for apartment's or small houses
Great for a small house or appointment when you dont really need a big heavy vacuum. Super maneuver. My only thing is that you do need to charge it every 2-3 days when daily use of it.

Great vacuum
Extremely light, vacuum head maneuvers easily. Can vacuum all 4 floors when charged to full. Senses different types of floor (carpet / hardwood / tile) and switch between modes smoothly. Good option to be able to turn the roller on or off. The small attached removes easily and works well as a staircase vacuum or for hard to reach areas. It empties easy, you just have to detach the small vacuum first.

I just purchased this product and used it for a month then the motor to rotate the brush burnt out with in 2 months of the purchase with a light use and good care. Not impressed at all with the product. I hope company can help as amazon window of return is closed on March 16.

Excellent despite missing features.
Excellent vacuum, more suction than the 25V Bissell. No lights, charger pad but for the price, excellent value.
