I bought this product to freeze a package of hot dogs to eliminate the possibility of them going bad before I eat the whole package. I eat 2 at a time, so it takes 5 meals to eat the whole package. I am the only hot dog fan in my family.The product worked splendidly. When I am ready to eat hot dogs, I open it and easily remove 2 hot dogs. Then I close it and refreeze the remaining ones.

Save your money. Not large enough for regular-sized hotdogs & when you are able to CRAM a whole package of hot dogs in the container it won’t close. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing!

After reading the reviews of the other hot dog keepers, and seeing they were not wide enough to hold most hot dogs. I was really excited to see that this one was 5 1/2" across. However, I measured it as soon as it arrived....generously, it's 5 3/8"--which, in fairness, does round to 5 1/2", but still disappointing. Good news, though, it does BARELY fit Hebrew National hot dogs, if you squish them a bit.Also there is wiggle room when I close it--by which I mean, it's probably not airtight. I can open and close it about 1/8" easily while it is in the closed/locked position. So no telling if it will keep them fresh or not. Only time will tell.On the plus side, it's way nicer than plastic bags, no watery hot dog liquid, and the plastic is nice and thick. It will get the job done, which is why I gave it 3 stars. The best one on amazon for sure. But someone please tell these companies to make wider hot dog keepers that fit regular hot dogs, and that close airtight!
