Very Nice, BUT...
I like it, and the way it works. I think the bottom portion of it extends further than it needs to, taking up valuable vertical space to put in the piping. Also, the stainless is so shiney, it almost looks like chrome, which would have been a lot cheaper. Still, seals well, works well, no putty needed. The BUT comes after using it a while: It seals very well when pressed down, and a quick pull allows it to "leak" water when pulled up a bit. But, it drains so slowly, that even if you're just washing your hands, water and suds builds up in the sink, and unless you wait for it to drain, you'll end up lifting it up, and letting it sit cockeyed (like all the other brands) in order for it to drain quickly. Also, you can't tell whether it's set to seal or drain (slowly). As a result, we end up letting the top portion sit in crooked, or remove it, the same as all the other brands, so I'm not sure the main feature is of any benefit. For us, at least.

good quality that someone could use
I did not use but found one in copper to match existing fixtures. I missed return deadline that upset me because this could be used by someone. It is very good quality brass and chrome finiy

Sink Strainer Installation Issue.
I was able to install this without too much problems. It came with foam insulator rings that go between the sink surface and the strainer lip that should seal the water from leaking. I first installed it with the rings only and it leaked. Unfortunately, I had to take it apart and using the plumber's putty with the foam rings, there are no leaks. Other than this minor inconvenience, we love the looks and the quality of these sink strainers and the sink works well.

Buy it..you'll be glad you did...it is now the very best...read my review on why.
Wish I could give it 5 stars...easy to install...only had to cut the plastic tail piece since this was deeper than our current one. Works well...the only negative is there should be a larger space between the ball bearing and the rubber stopper at the bottom of the strainer basket so that the water drains faster. Finish is excellent and the rubber gasket being included for the tail piece was a nice touch...better than the plastic one that was there. The slower draining costs it a star.I sent Coflex an email suggesting they increase the distance between the rubber stopper and the spring loaded ball bearing by about 3-4 mm to eliminate the air bubble forming and slow water drainage. They agreed with me that this was the way to eliminate the problem and replied on 3/16/16 "We have received your address. We will be happy to send you a replacement. Please note this will take about a couple of months. Thanks for your support."NEW UPDATE: Well, today I received the new strainer and as I suggested, the spring loaded ball bearing was moved 3-4 mm...perfect. No more air bubbles blocking the flow of water or slow drainage and it is now THE VERY BEST!

Perfect For Intended Use
Sink drain cups have been a kitchen piss-off for 10 years. The usual hardware store item has several problems: corrosion, the basket fails, hard to clean, and the basket, when in the "drain" mode, sticks up above the bottom of the sink and scrapes on pans, etc. Nasty. This unit exactly solves all of those irritations. It's easy to clean, it's made from corrosion free metals, the basket can't fail (because it has no moving parts), and when in the "drain" mode the basket sits nicely below the bottom of the sink, and does not scrape pans. Nicely done!I give it five stars for sturdiness. What will it be in 10 years? See you then.

Great product, does its job with ease.
Great product. It seals nicely and holds the water in the sink. I like that the strainer basket rests in the drain without seating down, not until pushed down. This allows for chunks of food items to be caught in the strainer, allowing it to actually do its job. My old strainer had to be set off-kilter to allow the water to go down, which then allowed food particles to go down the drain. The only bad thing about resting the strainer basket in the straining position is it does slow down the flow of water draining from the sink, and if a lot of water is dumped into the sink it will push the basket down into the seated position and plug the drain. So if you are dumping a hot pan of water into the sink you might want to remove the strainer basket first to allow the free flow of water down the drain. I can not speak to installation as my contractor did this for me.

Works Great
I replaced the old sink basket about a year ago with this product, and it has been working well. It did leak a few days after installing it, but all I had to do was tighten the collar and it stopped, and it has not resumed. I saw a review before I bought it that said the owner took out the seals that came with it and put putty in, but try tightening it first. The "bell" that transfers pressure from the collar to the sink bottom is pretty strong; I don't think you'll crush it. And the seals that come with this set are so much nicer than putty, which squeezes out and fails eventually. The strainer will tend to slip down and engage the stopper occasionally, but just lift it up. It's a very minor inconvenience.
