Measure twice, at least
I replaced another Kohler faucet that could not be reused because the mounting stud was rusted regular steel and snapped off. Kohler saved 10c over proper stainless steel most likely. I was not happy with Kohler, but went with them again because the new faucet had a drain control that worked with the original drain assembly.I drilled the faucet hole in the new counter to match the original. Big mistake. This faucet has a very short spout and barely reaches the sink. I ordered one of those flexible faucet extensions and that should be fine. The new faucet has a cheapo looking drain control rod. I used the far more attractive one from the original faucet and that is fine.It still uses a steel mounting stud, but I covered it with grease to hopefully prevent rusting. The faucet itself is fine, seems to be solid and has very smooth action and great chrome. The flow rate for CA-approved models is low, but adequate for a bathroom.

Really ugly drain stopper handle
The faucet itself is nice looking, but the stopper to open and close the drain is just an ugly piece of wire that sticks out the back of the faucet. It is unattractive.

Not What I Expected...
The faucet looks nice, but it's "water-saving" feature is a major drawback for me. Water streams out with little or no power behind it... and the lack of aeration delivers cloudy/milky hot water. Kohler was nice enough to send me another aerator but the result was the same. Not sure I can return the faucet at this point, but I will replace it. Also, you pretty much need to wipe down the faucet and handle after each use to avoid water marks. Oh well.
