An Outstanding Rain and Three Season Parka
After 20 years, my old European military raincoat gave up the ghost and it was time to find a new outer shell. I have to say that after a couple weeks of usage in all types of weather I am impressed with this parka and its sister fleece liner (purchased separately). I've worn it a few times in the rain and it stays dry and comfortable inside, regardless of temperature and humidity levels. In the wind it does a superb job of tempering gusts and has an elastic drawstring waist cord to help keep cold blasts from blowing up from underneath. The hood also has drawstrings that allow for a range of adjustment depending on weather conditions and hat types. The fleece liner is an inexpensive add-on and well worth the price. The liner can be worn by itself and also easily zips and snaps into the parka with a minimum of fuss. The parka collar was a bit stiff initially, but it has softened up after a week or so and lays back a bit more, which is what I had hoped for. I went with the X-large so as to be able to layer up garments underneath and the fit is very similar to other XL coats that I have. The jacket is basically everything I could ask for in a versatile outer shell. I do wish that the hood could be removed to let the collar lie flat, but I understand that it's a police garment and can live with the lack of that option. The overall level of quality for the garment is outstanding, and the features are well thought out with pockets and vents aplenty. A lot of friends have commented on how sharp the coat looks. I can see where this jacket, paired with a matching set of pants, would make for a fine addition to my motorcycle gear as an adjunct to its daily use as an outer shell.

Good jacket with a purpose
So far so good. Fit is as expected as I also ordered the fleece liner to go with it. The fleece liner was a size to small so I had to return that for the next size up. No issues there as a return fixed that. Quality seems good as the coming weeks and months with tell with how it holds up.

Great so far
Haven't worn it in the rain yet, so I can't give it 5 stars yet. Good features, good weight to the fabric, good zippers, huge pit vents. Pockets on the sleeves that allow for Velcro to be sewn on without compromising the integrity of the shell (No place on the chest to do the same though).

Sold to me as new and was a used coat.
Paid top dollar for a new item and upon arrival I discovered the velcro closures were full of what appeared to be white pet hair as well as reduced price tags inside the pocket that had been torn off the tag holder. A $100 difference in my cost and what tags have on them.

Similar to Goretex and well built
It will feel somewhat larger than expected for most people because it does not come with a liner which was what I had already expected. I get hot very easily so I didn't need the liner. I like how you can vent out the armpit area with the zipper just like my Army one.

Still searching
Jackets hood and neck area is too bulky. Constantly gets in the way. With the amount of equipment I wear the jacket fits tight. I tried going with a bigger size, but the fit was too big.
