LED indicator is not that bad
I bought both the Nyko Nintendo Switch Pro Controller charger and the PlayStation DualShock 4 charger and combining both products into this one review; they’re the same just with different charging ports for different controllers. If you’re wondering, they’re made of plastic and light feeling (they feel cheap) but also do their job. One thing I was worried about was that these chargers would overcharge my controllers, but they don’t. After your controller is fully charged, the charger will stop feeding power to your controller, so it doesn’t kill the battery over a long time. I don’t know if technology has gotten better but all controller chargers, I’ve bought the past few years, operate this way. Here’s how I know this; when the DualShock 4 charges it gives an orange-yellow hue for its backlit indicator, that hue stopped on the charger but (for the PS4 charge block) the light indicator was still on meaning power was going through the charger but not the DualShock 4 – bravo. The reason this is so important is that you can’t replace the internal batteries in the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or the DualShock 4; if you kill the charge cycle in these game controllers (aka kill the battery, so it holds little to no charge) then you’re SOL – just buy a whole new controller and charger unless you want to rip open your controllers and buy aftermarket controller batteries. The reason I’m taking off a star is that these are cheap feeling, enormous, clunky pieces of plastic. Plastic doesn’t have to feel cheap; they could have been smaller and sturdier with a more texturized feel. This isn’t a big deal since it’s not like you’ll be picking these up regularly. They look modern and sleek and have large rubber feet on their bottoms so that they won’t slide around everywhere. Overall, these get the job done.Note: The DualShock 4 charging block has an LED indicator (as mentioned previously) that the Nintendo Switch Pro controller charging block doesn’t. This feature is a huge bonus because you now know when power is going through the charging block regardless of whatever RGB light is showing on the DualShock 4’s own LED.

Why does it need such bright lights?
Here's what I love about this charger:-- Easy drop-in charging; no need to worry about whether or not you have aligned the plug and the socket correctly-- Completely unobtrusive dongle which you'll never notice while using the controller-- Multiple charge blocks can be attached for a custom charging stationHere's what I do not like about this charger:-- The lights are way too bright. Does it even need lights?-- Nyko customer service is non-existentI received a couple of these (the Charge Block Duo pack) as a gift, and was really excited about the prospect of being able to easily charge my controllers without having to run a USB cable from my console, which is mounted on the wall across the room. Unfortunately, one of the included dongles was bad, which I determined by process of elimination. I e-mailed Nyko to ask for a replacement dongle, which I thought would be easy and fast; it's a tiny piece of plastic which doesn't do anyone any good without the rest of the components. After a few weeks: Nyko did not respond, so I just bought a replacement from Amazon.Once I finally got two working where I wanted them, I noticed that my bedroom was no longer dark at night; these things are super bright! I don't know why Nyko felt the need to try and "improve" upon the Dual Shock 4 charging indicator; before these my controllers would gently pulse with amber light until they were done charging, and then went dark when fully charged. Nyko's Charge Block takes a nearly opposite approach: rapid, bright-white flashing LED bars, followed by continuous, full-on brightness when fully charged. My initial solution was to apply electrical tape to the light bars, but adhesion to the Charge Block is not great, so light still shines out at various places. The best solution was black acrylic paint; a fully-charged controller atop the block let me see all the places where light crept out of the box, and I just kept applying paint until all the light was gone.(I wanted to try and pry the thing apart to see if I could address the problem from the inside, but was worried about totally ruining the block because I couldn't find any screws or a good place to start prying.)If Nyko could put an on/off switch for the light on the next generation of these: they would basically be the perfect controller charger. This would also have been at least a 4-star review if they had responded to my e-mail and just sent me a single, tiny, replacement dongle which probably costs pennies to manufacture. So, if you get these and all the parts work: it does the job pretty well!If you don't care about super bright LED bars in the location where you'll be charging your controllers: this is probably the best charging solution you can find for the Dual Shock 4 at this moment.

Perfect for single players with multiple systems.
The concept of these charging blocks is perfect for a single-player gamer like me who plays on different systems. Most of the time I'm playing on the PS4 or on my home theater PC with an Xbox controller. Every once in a while my wife and I will play some Mario Cart on the switch. These blocks allow me to have my controllers in one place. They also look quite nice and do a good job of not looking "cluttered" on my bookshelf! However I would note that these are probably not the most space or cost efficient charging stations for someone wanting to have multiple of the same type of controller.

Great Product! LED lights are a little annoying
This is a great product and I bought it to go with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller dock that it can connect to modularly which is a great feature of this entire product line, but I do not like the LED lights on the side at all. They are always on when the controller is docked and the PS4 controller is bright enough when it's charging anyways. The Nintendo Switch Pro controller one has no lights and I love it but the LEDs on this one seem to just be useless. Maybe include a switch on the bottom of the dock to turn them off or something. I just covered mine up with black electrical tape.

Works well, brightness isn't an issue
Don't know if they listened to feedback or what but the LED lights on these blocks aren't bright at all. They're dimmer than the PS4 controller's own light, which I have set to the dimmest setting already. Also, I have three blocks connected together, and all of their lights light up when charging the controllers. No issues with the brightness or anything so far.

Best solution for multi platform charge docks
Brilliant product. Wanted a a charge dock for both Xbox and PS4 and this is the only solution that lets you connect one of each. Just need a Xbox version now

Why didn't I buy this sooner?!
After much researching I decided to purchase this product and im glad I did. Now that I've had it for a month I'm thinking, why didn't I buy this sooner??The adapter is none intrusive and quite frankly, brilliant. It makes attaching your controller to the charging dock as simple as plopping it right on. No more cable fuss for me, and it looks clean as hell. What really sold me was being able to pair multiples of these to not only charge my PS4 controller, but my Switch Pro Controller as well. Now I don't have to buy different chargers, I can keep everything neat and together with Nyko! The only thing I am not a fan of is the LED indicators on the front. They're nice when the controller is charged, but the problem starts when the controller is in charging mode. The indicators will start flashing and won't stop until the controller is fully charged. Since my charging blocks sit beside my television on my entertainment unit this can be rather annoying to see in the corner of your eye while watching TV.Other than that, this purchase is a no brainier.

Enjoyable, brainless, and can even charge controllers blinfolded. Worth it!
Item arrived very quick. The attachments on the controller doesn't affect on your grip and they are pretty snug. You can pretty much just drop them on the unit and it will sort of adjust itself to fit and it will light up. I set this up that the usb connectors shut off after 2hrs upon rest mode and i charge my controllers at night before going to sleep and never ran out of power. Only con is that the light is a bit bright on bedtime(i like it pitch black) and i just put something to block the light.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
The dongle on the dock broke my controller; it bent the micro usb slot so it could no longer be used. (Seems to happen alot) Avoid this charging dock; stick with a cable or one direct from Sony. Was told to contact sony to fix my controller that was made redundant bye this product. I'm livid.
