Oatey Pipe Joint Compound 1 Oz White

This worked perfectly for installing a replacement pressure switch in a Central Pneumatics (Harbor Freight) air compressor. That switch was the hub of all the pressure fittings. I used this on those fittings and they easily screwed together and I didn't have any air leaks. Time will tell how it holds up, but at least for the initial installation it worked great.The larger can apparently comes with an applicator brush in the lid. This tube does not. I was able to just squeeze a little out of the tube onto the threads and then roll it around the fitting, squeezing more out if needed. This provided a nice even relatively thin coating that didn't make a sloppy mess when screwing together. I did wipe any excess after screwing together with a paper towel.I did use nitrile gloves while applying this. The instructions warn not to get it on your skin. It is probably better safe than sorry, so use gloves when applying. It keeps your hands clean too.

Could not get a pool pipe connection to stop leaking even with the blue compound sold from my local hardware store. Saw on a pool forum where people recommended this stuff. Sure enough I put this on, got it good and tight, and no more leak. Happy customer here.

This was bought in an attempt to convert a natural gas grill to propane, which was done by following a tutorial on YouTube. It was used on the threads for the new brass nozzles and the new hose and it worked great.

It's a little messy if you're not careful. A little bit goes a long way. I like it better than plumber's tape.

I use this putty with PVC and copper pipe screw connections, and it works very well.
