How is it uv and led at the same time? which is it? i'm looking for an led lamp for shellac, not any other gel polish. just shellac. thanks! :)

First of all you have to understand the difference! This is a LED UV light. LED stand for Light Emitting Diode. That is the type of light bulb. There are 3 major types of lights, the other 2 types are incandescent (old school light bulbs like most people use to use in their home), and Compact Fluorescent. UV stands for Ultraviolet which is the wavelength of the light coming out of the light! So this is a LED(type of light bulb) UV(light wavelength). Now to answer your answer your question! As long as the wavelength falls in the 320nm to 400nm it will cure Shellac, gel, and acrylic nail treatments! This lamp specifically says 350-405. So it will cure most brands of shellac, gel, and acrylic! To find out more information about the wavelength of the brand you use, go to the manufacturer's website and search for UV wavelengths! My background is in chemistry and my wife has been doing nails for 10 years professionally. Can it work for normal  nail polish

I can't believe a seller would give such poor information! UV lights do nothing to speed the drying of normal nail polish especially LED UV lights! Normal nail polish works on evaporation. Since this lamp produces very little heat and no air movement you are just wasting your money! Ultraviolet lights work by creating a chemical reaction in the gel, shellac, or acrylic polymers, that doesn't occur in normal polish. I have a background in Chemistry and this can be used with normal polish it won't harm the polish, BUT IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY BECAUSE IT DOES NOTHING!
