Develop logical thinking and deductive reasoning skills, recognize and complete patterns, practice simple mathmatical operations, and explore estimation and prediction. Preschoolers strengthen early math skills as they help Blue win Big Prizes at the Prize Tent. Blue and her friends help strengthen early math skills, including counting and number recognition, simple addition and subtraction operations, shape and pattern recognition, sorting and classifying attributes, prediction and estimation, weights and measurements, sets and subsets, counting and spending money, and number line exploration and navigation. Review Steve, Blue and the other Blue's Clues characters are in their usual good form in this set of six well-designed early math activities. The math practice is found at a Backyard Fair where children play games to earn Blue dollars. These can be spent at the Prize Tent where the pieces kids purchase gradually turn into toys. In one activity, children add and subtract building supplies to make a train ride for the fair. In another, they complete patterns on colorful floats, or sort snacks like cookies and pizza according to specific characteristics, e.g. cheese, no cheese. Each activity has multiple challenge levels that automatically increase in difficulty as the child successfully plays the games. Several of these activities are quite innovative. There's a Mother May I? game in which kids move Blue across a path by counting ropes. Children cleverly practice their color, shape and counting skills in a fun card game. In an ingenious measurement activity, kids place toys on scales to compare their sizes. The program's biggest weaknesses revolve around ease of use and level of responsivity. Kids can easily get from one activity to the other but with each play they have to sit through the instructions for every activity. While testers were generally tolerant of these delays, some of the younger kids (age four) lost interest. Navigation could have been more straightforward in a few of the activities. It was not at first clear how to pay for the toy components in the Prize Tent or where to place the shapes in the float sequencing activity. Games are saved, but the program does not keep specific records of a child's activities. The graphics and sounds are excellent, and the activities are generally solid. The program offers a fun and refreshing set of math and logic activities. Teaches: math, logical thinking, classifying and sequencing objects, counting, number recognition, measurement, early addition, subtraction, money skills Age Range: 3, 4, 5, 6 Copyright © 2000 Children's Software Revue -- From Children's Software Revue® -- "Subscribe Now!" Review: My son loves this game! - My 3.5 year old loves this game, he originally played it at school and was very excited when we got it at home. As for the delays in the software (voices, mouse use...), it is true but doesn't seen to bother my son. He played it for almost 2 hours the first day we got it and now I have a hard time getting him off the computer. It is a good value for such a low price. Review: Five Stars - kids love it

Not for a 3 year old
Good game BUT this is not for 3 - 6, it is for 4+. My 3 year old daughter loves all the other "3-6" games we have gotten but this one is a bit hard to use. This game also has a delay in it where if any of the characters are talking the mouse goes away and the child can't control the game. This is on a serious game machine so it is the software not the machine. For slightly older kids I am sure this would be a good game but not for a three year old. My 2 cents worth....

Loved by my 4-year old
My wife and I purchased a computer for my (then) 3-year old's Christmas present. We also purchased some educational software for him to use, and Blue's Clues 123 Time Activities was one of the titles selected. The software installed easily on his Windows XP-based HP computer. He was up and playing in "no time flat." Game play is intuitive, and his favorite game is a Crazy -8s-based card game that he plays against one of Blue's Clues charming characters, a little bear. All of the games progress in difficulty depending on the child's level of success. After winning or successfully completing a task, the player is given a certain amount of "Blue Dollars," which can be used to buy items at the prize tent. These items are accumulated and are put together (by the computer, not by the child) to form a neat object like a toy boat or toy car. My now 4-year old still enjoys the game, and has experienced a limited amount of frustration. His mom helps to guide him often, and he also helps to guide me through some of the activities!

A fun and exciting game for all Blue's Clues fans!!!!
I remember playing this game at my old preschool and at my friends' and cousin's houses when I was growing up. I had a lot of fun with it and played it constantly! As a longtime fan of Blue's Clues, I must say that this game is amazing! Truly feels like you're at a REAL carnival, but inside your own personal computer! Although there are no clues to be found, there are still skidoos to go and is a lot of fun! Buy this game and other Blue's Clues games for your child if they idolize Blue!

Excellent and Educational
This is a fun cd with several games all aimed at teaching a child math skills. There are sorting games where a child has to sort out items into two sets of like items. There are games that encourage number, color or shape recognition. There are games that encourage measurement (in that something is bigger or smaller than something else) and weighing. As children play games the games get progressively harder. Also, as children play they earn blue dollars that they can later spend. By little four year old boy still enjoys playing with this game. We bought it when he was three. This is a fun computer game. It is easy to use and required very little input or direction from me as my son learned how to play the games. It grows with the childs skill level. This computer game makes math fun. Enjoy.

We Love you Blue!
Our 3 year old son loves this game! He has been able to play it all by himself with just a little help the first couple of times. He enjoys figuring new things out each time he plays and he is progressing rapidly in his abilities to figure the computer and programs out all by himself. This a very well-developed game. I have found a wonderful teaching tool in the game that I never expected. My little son is learning to take turns talking! Since he cannot do anything on the game while the characters talk, he is learning to really listen to what they say. It is delightful! He has started really listening to what Mommy says, instead of dashing off to do something else. He is even learning to show more patience to his baby sister! I had never thought that a computer game would be teaching manners. Kudos to the programmers!
