Is 40 ml of barbour thornproof wax enough to do a men’s jacket?

Probably, but it depends on the jacket. I recently waxed a duster which had never been axed before and it took two and a half tins but for an average sized jack, one tin should be enough.

Are there pfas or pfos chemicals in this wax?

PFOAS don’t decompose, combined with the conservation of mass means that trace amounts of the stuff are EVERYWHERE. But did Barbour suddenly change their almost 130 year thornproof dressing recipe to include a toxic and environmentally destructive precursor to teflon? As a chemical engineer I’d wager no.

Is this wax, like so many other waxes, derived from petroleum products?

Don’t know for certain, but I’d say yes! It works wonders and I did a full length coat and a jacket, still have a bit left over. My full length is over 30 yrs old and it came up like new.

I put my jacket (folded up) in a low oven (250) for 5 minutes before and after waxing.
