A delightful new spin on oil cleansing
I've been a huge fan of E.L.F. cosmetics for a long time. Everything they make is wildly inexpensive without looking or feeling cheap or low quality. And I do mean wildly inexpensive; most of their original makeup brushes are $1 - $3, and most of their original line of makeup is $3 - $5, but none of it feels or works like the kind stuff that you find in 99 cent stores. In fact, a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube and Instagram use E.L.F. products regularly in their tutorials, and those are people who definitely have access to ultra high-end cosmetics! This skincare line is a little pricier than their other offerings but still pretty reasonable, ranging from $3 for a sheet mask to $14 for a bubble mask, with everything else falling in the middle. I love the packaging, which is all a soft, pale blue-green with simple lettering that evokes a soothing spa-like atmosphere. I love the way it looks just sitting on my bathroom shelf! The name of this cleanser grabbed my attention immediately; I was intrigued, and wanted to know exactly what "gel melt cleanser" would do, and how well it would get the job done. Its a clear, thick gel that has no fragrance, which is excellent news for people with sensitive skin. It works just like traditional oil cleansing, with no foaming or lathering agents, which is excellent news for people with dry skin. And it rinses clean, taking makeup and dirt with it without stripping any moisture from your skin. Which is excellent news for everyone! I've been using oil cleansers on my face for several years and I really love how well the clean away dirt and impurities without drying out my skin. I've tried many different brands from both ends of the cost spectrum, but I've never seen one like this. The thick gel stays wherever you put it until you start massaging it into the skin; then the warmth and friction make it melt into an oil. Once you've massaged it all over your face you add a little bit of warm water and massage again, which emulsifies the oil into a white, foam-free lather that rinses away clean with just water. No oily residue is left behind at all, just clean, baby-soft skin. Younger people or those with oily skin may feel the need to follow with a very gently foaming cleanser if their skin feels greasy after, but I don't think its necessary at all. This is my favorite new way to remove makeup at night in one step (although I don't use it for eye makeup removal, but only because I've always just used baby oil and a cotton ball and nothing works better. Nothing). This is definitely worth a shot if you're curious about oil cleansing, or if you've tried it but hate how messy it can be because its impossible to control the oil running down your face and through your fingers. This gel isn't going anywhere until you want it to. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Good for getting makeup off
When you first put this on it feels oily but when you add warm water it feels like a nice face wash. It leaves your skin smooth, not oily. The only problem is that it can make your vision cloudy if you rub it on your eyes but that goes away.

Affordable balm-like product works!!
This stuff really gets off your makeup, is gentle enough to use on your eyes, is affordable and has no discernible scent. I give it four stars instead of five because I feel like it leaves a bit of a residue. Some might like the hydrating feel of that, but I end up rewashing with another product to get it all off.

Decent precleanser
This has to be followed with a cleanser to remove residue and some traces of makeup. It doesn’t completely clean makeup off on its own, but it helps to loosen it up before wipes/ other cleansers.

Not the best but affordable
I should have trusted the other reviews on here. Love that’s its affordable and yes it does take off my makeup but it’s not as easy as when I use my Clean It Zero makeup cleansing balm. My eye makeup does not come off as easily as I would like. And yes, your skin does feel a little oily or like there is a residue left on after washing this off but that isn’t a big deal to me since I follow up with a cleanser.

Very thick and oily
I've had this for a while now and have tried a few times. I enjoy as my regular cleanser a balm to oil product from another brand, but it's not available in the store any more I have to order it. Being that I've been enjoying many e.l.f products I figured I'd give this a try. I can find it easily at a good price. First let me say it's very thick and heavy. It will get makeup off your face but it leaves a very oily film that's difficult to rinse off. Everytime I go to try it again I regret it. I feel it's clogging my pores and my face is a greasy mess that takes alot of time to remove. I don't recommend this product there are better options for this type of product. I gave it 2 stars because it did remove the face makeup left behind from a wipe and it doesn't dry your skin out.

used a few times, works great
I wanted a gel type cleanser to help remove my makeup rather than scrub at my face. So i picked this up because it was affordable. It removed my makeup easily and was not harsh on my sensitive, combo skin. I didn't need to use a lot of the product either, so it will probably last a while.
