European 800 Fill Power 100% White Goose Down Pillow. (Standard) by East Coast Bedding

Yesterday, when I received this down pillow, I was delighted. Exactly what I wanted. Then, when I used it last night, I tossed and turned because there's a subtle bad odor. Chemical? Animal? Don't know, but definitely a problem. I fluffed in dryer this morning. Still smelled. Laid it in sun all afternoon. STILL SMELLS. So disappointed. How do I get rid of that smell?UPDATE: ELIMINATED ODOR. After a week of daytime sun "treatment" and nighttime storage with a charcoal deodorizer bag, the pillow's odor has abated sufficiently to use.

I'm a side sleeper that perspires in the summer. I need loft and I get much better support on down pillows. I waited a full year to review this pillow, and can now say it's the best I've slept on in my 70 years. It still has almost the same loft, firmness and fluffiness as the day it arrived. My money was much better spent on this than on all the other (cheaper) down and 'just like down!" pillows I've owned. I now know that, just like tools, pillows are a really dumb place to go cheap! Tip: I've loyally followed the instructions to fluff the pillow every time I get up! A few swats at the corners to drive the down back out into the middle may be a key!

I was hoping to have a higher quality down pillow as this was expensive. This pillow is just OK, it flattens out frequently and does not fluff up as expected.

The pillow is well made. The service was good and I received the pillow on time. This is my first time buying down pillows and I wasn't sure what to look for. I wanted a well filled down pillow so I was looking for at least 800 fill. I have been sleeping on the pillow now for about two weeks. I really thought I had found the right one, and it is a nice pillow, but just this morning and last night I noticed that it was sinking in the middle and not as firm and full feeling as the first week or so of sleeping on it. I noticed this pillow says it has down clusters. Is this the norm for a down pillow. Guess I need to do some more research. Is there any other down pillow you would suggest? Thank you.

I can’t say enough about this pillow. I’ve always had down and down/feather pillows and this one is superior to all of them. I used to actually open up two pillows and combine the down and feathers into one to make hem more firm but they were always heavy and packed down a lot when sleeping on them. I’ve also had similar down pillows that just didn’t have the loft that his one does. This one is fluffy and firm at the same time. Very, very comfortable for me as both a side and back sleeper. I did buy a pillow cover since this one didn’t come with one.
