An extra star for the epilogue.
"He was driven. Relentless. Assertive. Unforgiving. Intimidatingly intelligent. Richer than God. And, until several months ago, married to his job. Now he was married to me. He was also my boss."Vienna Stratton has been working for Dane Davenport for four years as his PA. He did her a solid favour once which led her to owe him one right back and now he wants to cash in- by having a contract marriage for twelve months so that Dane can gain full control of his trust fund set up by his uncle, because it required for him to marry before he turned thirty eight or else the amount would he divided between his brothers.“So, should I call you babycakes from now on or something?” Dane gave me a droll look. “No.” “Shnookums? Dear one? Sugar lips? Light of my life? Ooh, I know—big daddy.” He sighed “Only you, Vienna. Only you.”As soon as I saw this book had a marriage of convenience trope, I jumped right into it. On top of that, it had slow burn and the boss-personal assistant dynamic. But it seemed that everyone was trying to break them up. Dane's mother and father died leaving him and his brothers- Kent and Travis behind with their uncle Hugh. But because of their past the brothers were not at all close. I only liked Kent from Dante's side of his family. His brother Travis and his wife Hope were so greedy and his sister in law was jealous, bitter and delusional.“You hold a lot inside, don’t you?” “So do you.” “Yes, we’re more similar than I ever would have thought.”Vienna was a smart woman. She was strong and could defend herself just fine when someone dared to call her a gold digger or some other mean and horrible things. I liked her more than Dane. I felt like I knew her more than Dane (despite knowing Dane's past) because the whole story is told from her point of view. The things she went through in her childhood with her mother and her foster parent's daughter- Heather (ugh I hate her) and then the mess with her ex was so heartbreaking.“They’re my rings on her finger. It’s my name she’s taken. It’s my bed she shares. She is mine."Before their marriage, Dane and Vienna lacked a connection. There were so many instances where there was a lot more telling rather than showing. For example, they went on three dates before the wedding but at that point there were no dialogues between them. Then after the wedding, things slowly changed for the better. But still, there were some occasions like the festival, Dane and Vienna's visit to the museum and Thanksgiving dinner with Vienna's family that were brushed over without giving any details. The drama was a lot to handle but I liked how Dane & Vienna communicated with each other and didn't fall into someone's constant ploys to break them apart. I gave the book more than three stars just because of this reason and also because of the sweet and subtle things Dane did for Vienna in his own cold and reserved way. But I just wish we got one chapter in his pov to understand the exact moment he fell in love with her.Overall, I liked how the drama was resolved in the end and everyone got their happy ending. The epilogue was just so wholesome that I couldn't help but increase my rating from three to four stars.

Good one
I really like this trope. One of the many good novels I've read. Just loved Dane, his personality as written by author is my favorite. And the steamy scenes are very erotic.

A refreshing take
Though based on a much- abused premise, the author has painted it in an interesting palette of colors, giving the characters interesting subtleties. The pace was unhurried taking us through the journey of the evolution of their relationship. The hero was a real hit. Some of the repetitive twists and turns could have been avoided. The climax could have been managed much better.

Strong characters but too lengthy
The four stars are for being too long. Also, the hot scenes are a little too many. The reception scene is too drawn out, I was a.little tired by the end of it. Nevertheless, strong characters that grow up to be worthy of each other. It takes great strength to face truths, speak truths, and love wholeheartedly. It never helps to keep secrets. But sharing is caring, and Dane learns that. Vienne learns to trust him and stands up for herself too against Hope and Jen. Good book.

Its so so good!!!!!!
This book is just so so so good!!! I love how Dane was protective and possessive about his Vienna. But what endeared me to him was him being so respectful, understanding and proud of her as his employee. Vienna was equally a strong women who was loyal, thoughtful, kind and took no bullshits. I loved how they communicated with each other and had trust between them to rarely fall into the traps set by the other man/woman. There was practically misunderstood drama that goes on for a lot of chapters.Suzanne is one of my favourite authors. I love her mature writing style. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Cute and heartwarmingly perfect
Absolutely amazing! I would actually say this book is sort of slow burn romance and i especially liked that there weren't any misunderstanding or miscommunication and Dane is the perfect form of grumpy pants plus Vienna i adore her so much.

Easter Eggs Galore
I’ve said in the past and I’ll say it again if Suzanne Wright was to publish her shopping list I’d read it. The Favor is a departure from her usual paranormal novel but this in no way lessened my enjoyment of this book. While she has written a few contemporary books in the past they’ve normally had more of thriller/suspense vibe to them. The Favor is more a straight up love story. There are some dramas but nothing major. This book is centred on a marriage of convenience between a boss and his assistant which gradually turns to love which creeps up on them without them realising it. The hero is still the usual alpha male who needs a smart, mouthy take no nonsense woman to smooth their rough edges we’ve come to expect so the usual banter which I love is still present but one of the things I loved the most about this book was the depth Suzanne has given to her characters so instead of being two-dimensional they’re well rounded with all the baggage and flaws that anyone can have, in this case both the hero and heroine overcoming child abuse and also, in Vienna’s case, ongoing mental health issues in her immediate family. An issue which was handled with great sensitivity by Suzanne Wright. An added bonus for me was all the hidden Easter eggs sprinkled throughout this book such as Pallas cats and Blake Mercier which have now left me in the mood for a re-read of her back catalogue.

Loved this book!
4.5/5This book had some of my all-time favourite tropes: marriage of convenience, fake dating, boss X employee, slow burn. There was buckets full of tension, tones of humour and so much drama!! I was so entertained and the book as a whole gave me so many butterflies, I was swooning so hard.Watching Dane & Vienna's relationship grow was so beautiful, I loved their whole dynamic and the love they shared. Dane was the moody, sarcastic, protective male that had a hard exterior but a super soft centre when it came to Vienna. I adored Vienna! She was no pushover and she definitely put Dane in his place a time or two.I loved the Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) representation, I personally haven't seen a lot of that in other books. The author made it educational and addressed certain stigmas commonly associated with the disorder. This was my first read from Suzanne Wright and it did not disappoint! I will definitely be reading more from her. The whole book was amazing! Also, the epilogue was EVERYTHING! I was crying.

Humorous, witty, sexy and intriguing
This book mentions sensitive content such as abuse, blackmail and mental health issues.Vienna is a strong heroine who is determined and kind. She has been Dane Davenport’s PA for four years, when he asks for the favour she owes him: marry him for twelve months so he can gain his trust fund left to him by his uncle.Where do I start with Dane? Successful, ruthless, intelligent, confident, but also gentle and caring. Did I mention gorgeous? The Favour has a good storyline that flowed seamlessly and interesting characters - not to mention some hilarious lines! I loved Simon, Deacon, Maggie, Freddie and Blue. I thought the epilogue closed the story off perfectly.Fake marriage/ marriage of convenience isn’t normally my cup of tea, however, the favour is much more than that. I devoured and finished the book the day it was released. If you enjoy The Favour, I would also recommend Shiver by Suzanne Wright.

Read it on KU then had to buy it (just like the rest of her books!)
The headline says it all, really. I loved this book, which wasn't surprising since I've loved everything Suzanne Wright has written since discovering her soon after she started publishing her novels. She never short-changes her readers: when she's got a story to tell she lets it flow fluidly until the HEA, with properly developed characters and plots which are allowed to unwind at their own pace. Reading one of her novels is like eating a banquet which is full of delicious things that you want to savour and taste slowly, while looking forward to the next dish (or page, or chapter). In addition she's such a skilled writer that if she were a chef (yes, I'm stuck on that metaphor now), she'd be a Michelin 3* chef because she's that good. I also loved the reference towards the end to the two lead characters from her previous contemporary novel which, needless to say, I've now absolutely got to re-read. Highly, highly recommended.

Loved it
If I didn’t know Suzanne Wright had written this book, I wouldn’t have guessed that she had. That is how much of a versatile writer she is. I enjoyed that essentially this was Vienna’s story and not back and forth with others points of views. What captured my attention was the mental health issues and abuse and how Suzanne gave them the proper attention and did not glorify them but gave an insight and awareness to them. Dane was the alpha male but a realistic alpha male with quiet tendencies. Vienna was a strong character and I’m glad she wasn’t scared to call him on his behaviour most of the time. Great to get shout outs for characters in her other contemporary romance books. Great book, great author, well worth devouring all of her books.
