I’ve now had this wallet for over 2 years and as you can see in the pictures the faceplate and elastic are just as good as they were day 1, there is some chipping on the metal plate but that is the only sign that this thing isn’t brand new it is incredibly durable. I typically have 13 cards and a tile tracker inside the wallet and it can fit more, it fits nicely in my front pocket and is thin and light enough that I don’t really notice it and not having to sit on a wallet all day is so much more comfortable. It’s super easy to get to the card I want and is definitely faster to get what I want than a traditional wallet. It also just looks slick and stylish. Highly recommend.

I travel via car a lot and have for most of my adult life. A few years back, I started to develop problems with sciatica pain, and a physical therapist suggested I remove my wallet from my back pocket while driving or sitting at my desk. I started to do that, but then I would often times forget to take it out if I was in a rush, I’d or leave my wallet behind by accident if I did remove it. To try and find another solution, I started looking at slim wallets for my front pocket. Unfortunately, since I carry a phone in one pocket, and a set of keys and a pocket knife in the other, the wallets I tried were just too bulky for me. I started noticing ads for Ridge about a year (ish) ago, and it looked to have great potential. The price tag initially gave me pause (it did seem pricey for such a little thing) but then everything seems to have become expensive these days; so I figured if it worked for me, it would be well worth it. Fast forward to today and I am very happy I made this choice. I scaled down to my ID and 4 cards, along with roughly 10-15 bills tucked under the strap (the strap seemed more secure to me than the clip, but that was just a guess. I have not tested it). The wallet is so small and light, I barely notice it in my front pocket! I opted for the carbon fiber in the hopes it would not only be even more lightweight, but also resist scratching from my keys. So far it’s a win on both counts. I am very happy I made this purchase!

Coming from a long suffering (6+ years), overloaded (20+ cards of varying types) fabric bifold, The Ridge Wallet is a revelation in compactness. It feels as if it disappears in your pocket but only takes a pat or tap to see if it's still there. It definitely tends to stay in your pocket being as it is more dense and smaller than a a traditional tri/bifold wallet. I work on my own car and do other hands on projects relatively frequently. I have yet to have it fall out or get in the way of things in my front pockets. I have previously had my bifold wallet, pushed or fall out on many occasions. This wallet type in general will take some getting used to. It starts with taking only what you need for day to day activities and "normal" emergencies. This will thing will not be a good replacement for anyone that carries every business, license, credit/debt, and insurance cards + whatever else In their wallet. I find 7 cards are sufficient to comfortably cover daily my needs. It should be noted that this is not a wallet for the impatient or those who aren't willing to adjust to doing things differently. This is because getting used to the design/functionality is an exercise in clumsiness until you figure out how to use it in a way that allows you to perform the tasks you require with it. Personally, I keep the four most used cards next to either end plate and use a combination of fingers and nails to remove the required cards. Single handed operation is possible with my hands and dexterity levels, but I generally use two. Slightly less tension from the straps would make this easier. Of course, the straps will loosen over time, but I suspect that that will happen on a year scale, not on a week or month scale. As for the money clip, it's stiff. It is probably made of spring steel as it attracted to magnets and has a very large range of motion. I can stick my entire index finger under it (see Pictures) and it will hold onto my finger even with mild shaking then return with a snap to its original position when I remove my finger. It securely holds the money in place. I bifold and separate denominations to make things easier, but you will almost always pull all of it out when you aren't being careful. It is also useful to temporarily store business cards should the need arise. They stick out an eighth of an inch past the body of the wallet but are good in the width area. I would caution you to be careful of facing the clip towards anything you don't want scratched since it is made of steel. If you don't want to have to worry about this, get the money strap instead. So far, I have been using my wallet 3+ times a day, everyday. The elastomer/fabric straps that hold the wallet together have not loosened in the slightest in the 3 plus weeks I have been using it. The strips are thicker and stiffer than some of the elastic bands I've seen on clothing The steel money clip is showing signs of the coating wearing off on the very edge, but I would expect this from any coated metal that rubs against things. At this point it's barely noticeable and could quite possibly be considered me nit picking. The aluminum and its coating are in a word, beautiful. It's a satin finish that does not easily pick up smudges or fingerprints. It has so far been very scratch resistant. It even spent two hours with my keys in a pocket during heavy lifting and shoving activities. The plastic plates that are attached to them are thick enough to support the aluminum ones and stiff enough to resist over flexing. They are however showing scratches already (see above). I think this is okay because they are in a place where they aren't visible and it shows that they choose a plastic that is of a similar or lesser surface hardness to the cards themselves. Good for the longevity and condition of the cards even though most cards will get replaced every 3-4 years if not sooner. Keeping the strap strength and plastic nature in mind, it would be a good idea to clean both the cards and liner throughly every so often to reduce the likelihood of scratching. So for final thoughts, if you want a lightweight and compact way to carry your essential cards and a bit of money, get this or something like it. Is it for everyone? No. It takes patience and practice to use and doesn't hold a lot. It is perfect for someone that doesn't need a crap ton of cards on a daily basis or great for a night out type deal. Especially with the clip, which is strong enough to hold on straps , loops or interior pockets. It would also not create an unsightly mass on your look because of its compact size. Is it worth the 75 usd I payed for it...no. While it does include, a tool and some spare fasteners to service it, it is a perfectly finished piece, and everything seems pretty well thought out and built, this should cost no more than 50 usd for the aluminum one and 75 usd for the titanium one. Now, if there was an extra set of different colored plates, the cash strap was included in the box, and the guarantee claim service is as easy as blinking. Yes, all day. Do I like it? No...I love it! I'm glad I purchased it, even though it was on a whim. I love minimalist things that are still stylish and usable everyday. There is not a single time that I have pulled it out of my pocket and not enjoyed the feel of it in my hand, or the way it looks. Is it sometimes annoying? Yes, but I haven't had anything or anyone in my life that I loved that wasn't annoying in some way or other. Will I buy one again? That depends on the after sale service and/or mentioned additions. So far, I will continue to use and enjoy it. I'll try to remember to do another review in a year or if any serviceable issues pop up with it. Also, not all colors are available on Amazon. I was somewhat worried that this "wallet" would hold too few cards but, I have the equivalent of 12 credit cards in it and it works fine. The quality of the Ridge is very high. It is smaller than I thought, just the size of a credit card, and fits easily, and not noticeably, in a front pocket. It takes a bit of getting used to in that the mechanism is different from a standard wallet but, you get used to it and it becomes second nature. It is also nice that it has a lifetime warranty, unlike the last 3 scan proof wallets I have had that broke within a year or so. The Ridge is expensive, but it will probably last forever!

I love this wallet, but it does require that you be aware of what cards you carry. As someone who has moved almost entirely to using Apple Pay for paying it works very well. I keep 2 physical cards on me (1 personal and 1 family) and if I need anything else it is on my phone or in a separate wallet in a safe in the case of an emergency. Outside of that my License, Zipcard, and MBTA card and it is very slim and is awesome. The only thing I don't love is the AirTag attachment meaning I really can't comfortably keep it in the back of my pants anymore, but thats a minor thing. I rarely if ever actually keep cash (or if I do its cash I need in the moment and only keeping for an hour or so) so that is not an issue for me. This wallet is very much made for a modern lifestyle. (and nothing to do with "growing up" as one review implies, I am 32). If you use your phone for most of our purchases and your wallet is mostly for your ID you will likely do very well with this wallet. For me I carried around my wallet because I had to, not because I really actively needed anything in it on a regular basis (MBTA card being the exception) But if you are someone that still uses your physical cards, uses cash regularly, or other needs you may have some issues with this. But it is easy to get cards out when necessary.

Ich liebe meine Ridge Wallet. Kleine Abmäße die definitiv in jede Hosentasche passen. Die Größe ist gegenüber der klassischen Geldbörse super angenehm. Das Design ist edel und es macht einen guten Eindruck in jeder Situation. Auch den ein oder anderen Sturz hat es bereits ohne große Spuren weggesteckt. Gut finde ich das alles einzeln getauscht werden könnte wenn einmal etwas defekt sein sollte. Jedoch zeigt auch das Gummi nach Jahren des Gebrauchs nur leichteste Erscheinungen von Ermüdung. Jedoch ist ein Austausch noch lange nicht erforderlich. Lediglich eine Kleinigkeit ist mir aufgefallen, die Karten nutzen sich etwas schneller ab als in der normalen Geldbörse da sie direkt aufeinander liegen. Definitiv nicht mein letztes Wallet aus dem Hause Ridge.

It’s just not worth the price. Sure rfid blocking is nice but it’s in basically every wallet nowadays. I like that it’s compact but my old wallet wasn’t a problem.
