Sur La Table Porcelain Sugar Bowl with Lid and Serving Spoon, White

Arrived earlier than expected and not broken.

Buyer beware! If you are looking for items that are not made in China, then look elsewhere. Sur La Table has many items made in Italy and Turkey. I was assuming this would also be made in those countries and the description does not give a country of origin. There are several items from Sur La Table that coordinate with this one, like the creamer, the gravy boat, and the teapot (those are the ones I purchased) that are all Made in China. Sur La Table website does say this is made in China on their own site, but that is not reflected on this Amazon description. My fault for assuming. The items themselves look pretty good, typical Sur La Table quality so why avoid items made in China? Many dinnerware and server items that are made in China often are made with clear glazes that contain lead and therefore leach into your food. Some leach more than others, and with a company like Sur La Table, I hope this is the exception and production in China does not have an affect on the quality or contents of the glazes on these items. Sur La Table assures that their items are all lead and cadmium free, but personally, I still am a bit cautious about items made in China, whether the company assures that they are free of such contaminants or not. I love Sur La Table, so next time I'll just have to be more cautious in purchasing their items to be sure of where they are made.

Nicer design and Quality than expected! Also, a little smaller than expected, BUT: Would buy again, and highly recommend.

Very nice sugar bowl. Especially like the cut out on lid to accommodate the sugar spoon.

Very nice-looking and pleasant to use.The spoon is very fragile and broke the first time that I handled it. But, it went back together easily with superglue, and the same company sells replacements for $3.

I've been looking for a plain white sugar bowl for years. My old one was chipped and looking pretty worn. This is just perfect.

What stops this sugar keeper from being perfect is what stops most of them - the handle is too small to grip easily. Sugar/spice keeper makers, put a loop handle big enough to put a finger through on the lids!
