Wow, I liked this story because it should how no matter what, never give up on yourself or your dreams. She saw it, be!ieved, and achieved it. I would recommend it to my granddaughter Myal and Morganne. Also, to everybody. I got this book, and it was long,It was relived, relatable, ridiculously hilarious 😂😂😂😂,brought back memories we can now laugh at, because it was that life that against ALL odds, have the Uses like her still surving this life today...Her narration was perfect.Listening to her narrate was like being over a cousins' house as they tell it like it was...As I get stuff down, I listen to this book...I really wish she would consider narration of other books of us...I get so turned off getting a book narrated by those who don't fit our narrative...Seems like an invasion that I choose not to hear... like black women affirmations being narrated by Not us... On or in my personal time...No worries though, it just forces me to read the printed version...I digress...Add this book to your library...

I picked this book because of its title "Finding Me". But after finishing this book it seems as if I have found myself. Viola Davis is remarkably pure in describing her life as a working actress. She is brutally honest about her emotional and sexual traumas. this book is a narrative flow. I am not a film geek but I love watching good cinema. Her renditions of her Art made me fall in love with the process of character portrayal. It's a huge platform to "vomit" your unprocessed emotions. I salute her courageous spirit and send her loads of love. Every woman in this world must read this book♥️

To me, reading about someone who had so many odds against her, and yet has managed to be able to use all her skills, talents and courage to land exactly there where she dreamed of, is an incredible lesson of strenght and resilience. "Finding me" offers historical, social, and economical insights of American society, as well of a non romantic but very real description of the craftmanship and not so glamorous sides of the making of an actor. And last but not least, the loving way mrs Davis speaks of her parents and family despite everything she and her sibblings went through is an example. Adds the pleasant read of a welk written story..
