I love this yarn
I love this yarn! Very nice to work with and the colors are beautiful!! My only complaint is that it is way overcharged on amazon!!!Go to Michaels and get it for half the price!!!! I am happy to find the better deal but think it’s really sad amazon overcharges this so much!!!

Beautiful
When I first saw the Caron Cake yarns, I fell in love with them. The colors were great, blended beautifully. It set me to start making six blankets for Christmas, six grandkids. Three of the blankets are made with double yarn, using the variegated Caron yarn along with a solid Heart color. The three others were just the Caron yarn. The three Caron Cake blankets are my smaller blankets for the baby and toddlers. The issue that I kept running into was that the yarn would be tied together in several places throughout the skein. In a few of the skeins it was what I would think of as normal. Perhaps two or three times if necessary. However I found that several of the skeins were tied together seven or eight times. Some knots were very close together. I am not a fan of having to hide, or trying to hide, a bunch of knots in my blankets. When you work so hard on something for someone you live, you want it to be beautiful. Overall, I love the yarn, it was easy to work with (when my puppy didn’t get ahold of the skein!), and the finished result is beautiful.

Arrived with no Caron Cakes label and very streaked.
The single ball of Caron Cakes "Rainbow Sherbet" that I ordered to complete my project arrived with no label band on it or even in the box - just the ball of yarn. There were streaks of color on the strands of yarn (raspberry pink streaks on the aqua strands etc.) through out most of the ball of yarn. It's very noticeable. I don't mind the look, but the rest of my project is not like that (each solid color is solid with no streaks- just a few flecks once in a while). Have ordered two more balls of the same color to try to finish up this project. Hope they are not "seconds" with no label. That's what I suspect I got. Something that Quality Control disguarded. The yarn itself is beautiful and smooth to work with. Will see if the next 2 balls of this yarn are better quality.

Very pretty color combination
The colors in this particular yarn are very pretty. I wasn't expecting to find knots in the thread though like it has been pieced together..makes it hard to to create a smooth stitch when those knots cause lumps and bumps while trying to crochet. I have never had this problem with the self striping yarns before this..not sure if it was just a bad batch or what.On a good note, the delivery was prompt, product was in new condition. The yarn itself is a very pretty combination of colors I really like it..I just hate the knots found in the thread. Overall satisfied with purchase and seller.

Repackaged. Beware.
This skein came in a plastic bag which I never thought about until using it. After using, I’m fairly confident that it was a rewrapped/returned skein that had yarn missing. I had my project measured out to need exactly one skein of the Caron funfetti yarn and it ran significantly short leaving my project unfinished. In addition, it was twice the price of an in-store equivalent.

Pattern repeat not consistent
Depending on the project, it is interesting to see a design emerge. The dreaded ends needing hidden that one has to deal with traditional color changes are not an issue. But I was very disappointed that a reorder of the same yarn was drastically different in the different transition. If you intend more than a 1-skein project or a project needing more than one, I don’t think you can take a chance on the skein being a consistent repeat. Plus a light color stopped abruptly and a dark color tied on. Very noticeable.

Very nice yarn
A bit pricey but nice yarn. Soft and easy to work with. Very colorful. What I especially like is that the yarn is wrapped in such a way that you can easily find both ends and use it from the outside or center of the skein, and either way, it won't get tangled.

Too many knots
This yarn feels great while working with it. There are lots of knots in the yarn. The color blocks are really big. The colors are beautiful, but the knots are very disappointing.

Knotty wool
I recently got back into crocheting, after a long break from doing it, after some encouragement from work colleagues. One of my colleagues was knitting with this, and then gave me the remainder of the wool.I have never progressed beyond making a square, and would get frequently bored with having to change wool etc. This is a "clever" wool as the colours change frequently. You do get some occasional blips in colour, where a darker colour will slip in, but I can see one blip where this happened. It's also a nice mixture of wool, in each "cake", and a nice range of colours, so you'll be hard pressed to choose what one to do next.I found the easiest way to do this was to work from the middle, out. You do end up with a rather pathetic pile of wool, by the time you get to the outer colours, by at least starting, you don't have to do that annoying thing with turning the wool every so often. There are knots - it's wool, of course there's going to be knots - but none were particularly difficult, and had obviously just been tangled at some point. I only had to cut the wool to remove a knot once, and that was my fault, because I pulled it too tight. The wool isn't the softest, and I wouldn't recommend using for kids or baby clothes, if that's what you're intending to do with it. It isn't rough exactly, but I have definitely felt softer wool.It does end up quite dense, and feels quite heavy if you're sitting with it on your lap for any amount of time.I have now bought the wool in Blackberry Mousse, for another project, and I will be nice and cosy under my new throw for my bed.

Naughty wool
I have been loving the Caron Cakes wool, since recently getting back into crochet - I find it much easier to watch TV and crochet at the same time or during quiet moments, rather than endlessly scrolling through social media, losing a few more brain cells day by day.I will agree with the other reviewer, that these colours do very occasionally bleed, but normally it's a little blob in the wrong place, and I noticed it on my last colour, but not this one. This one is very knotty though, and I regularly found myself wasting valuable time, picking out knots, swearing frequently.I would definitely recommend this wool, if you're like me, and gets bored doing the same repetitive colours. This keeps it fresh, and you're not having to frequently change colours/start new wool/run out of wool. This does last a good while, but for a full blown blanket (like the picture), you are looking for at least 4-5 balls of wool, depending on the size.I will continue to purchase these, as I really do enjoy crocheting with them.

Not as much odd bleedthrough as others
I do have a love for the Caron Cakes, as it stops me getting bored, due to the change in colours. This particular one, the Rainbow Sprinkles is obscenely bright, but I didn’t experience as much bleedthrough of other/odd random colours as I have done in previous. The only issues I’m finding with the Caron Cakes, which are getting to be a real bugbear of mine, is not every ball starts/finishes with the same colour. Which is a real annoyance when you come to change balls, as it doesn’t “flow” correctly. The other bugbear is they make it really hard to find the beginning of the wool, particularly as I find it easier to start from the middle and work my way out. I literally have to take the whole middle section of colour out, in order to find the end. This should be easy to find or should be sticking up. May not be an annoyance for others, but it is for me.This makes for a really nice throw/blanket, by using some white and pink to break up the pattern a little.Out of all of the ones I have reviewed so far, this is one of my favourites, simply because there was t as much bleedthrough. You may need to wear sunglasses however, while crocheting.

STUNNING
Beautiful yarn to work with it’s lovely and soft.Consistent thickness throughout the yarn with no knots and does not tangle whilst knitting.Stunning colours that blend well together. One ‘cake’ was enough to complete a generous infinity scarf, that is super warm and cozy!!The hardest part was deciding the colour combinations I wanted the most and what I intended to make! The colours range from pale lilac to deep purple, five shades per cake.Highly recommended yarn that I bought in two other colourways too, to make a shawl, and the colours compliment each other across the range.

Full of knots
Ordered 3 cakes as I needed them as I'm making a blanket for my daughters birthday lots of knots in the colour changes, I followed a pattern and this yarn was recommended, I could have got cheaper and better quality yarn for the price I paid.
