Great value and amazing quality
Like one of the other reviewers, I also just returned a Celestron 15x70mm Sky masters, and I agree that those were total junk. I tries two pairs and both had awful double vision. These Orion's are SO MUCH BETTER! But they are also a lot heavier. So I can't use without a tripod, which is fine.Last night was my first night looking at the stars. I saw Pluto, Saturn, and Neptune, albeit they are nothing more than sparkling diamonds in the distance, but still... The real fun was looking at nebulae and just being hypnotized. On a tripod these glasses are great. The optics are perfect and the hard case is a big plus. I'm sold on this brand. I hope they make telescopes.

Good stuff
If you are a stargazer and intend to purchase a binoculars mostly for sky-watching,think about to buy a tripod(Recommend Orion 5378 tripod also with Orion 5271 Versatile Tripod Mounting Adapter ) together, buy a tripod together, buy a tripod together, the important thing I had never repeated three times...just leave the estimation of stamina off,or would suffer from elbow ache and be dizzy to like to puke.Even though these phenomenon wouldn't come,it is hard to catch a good view of target as the slight effect would lead to a magnitude shaking of sight that no longer could focus on it.With GiantView,it will easily to catch good view constellation in urban area. This stuff is full-mutilated coating, which means eyepieces and objective lens had been coated, and IC focus. It is easy to catch sight of M75(apparent magnitude 8.5) and Pluto in the slight foggy night. If sky-watching really intrigue you to explore then start from a binoculars and don't be stucked by the reviews, even not by mine.

Outstanding Value and Superb Quality.
Having just returned a Celestron 15x70mm Skymasters, which was little more than poorly made junk, I was hesitant to order another pair of 'giant' astronomical binoculars costing less than $500. However, I read so many good reviews and saw some really good videos by Orion, that I decided to take the plunge again, this time with a pair costing a little over $240 with tax etc. I ordered these with 2 day shipping as the Amazon "Free Shipping" has been running a week to ten days here, and I needed them within a week. The supplied case is fantastic- a hard sided, metal trimmed, custom-cut, foam-filled beauty! Nicely made once again, and an order of magnitude better protection than the thin nylon bag I got with the Celestrons. The views through these are simply amazing and I am extremely satisfied with the resolution, alignment, etc. For astronomy, you do NOT need a central focusing mechanism. Individual eyepiece focusing, once set, is not changed once set for "infinity" for your eyes.Highly recommended regardless of price! One of the best investments I have ever made!

too heavy, one of the lens cannot focus.
I was not able to focus one of the lens. It is really heavy, you need a special tripod. I returned when I was not able to use it.

Very happy with these binoculars
Very happy with these binoculars. They are heavy and somewhat difficult to hold steady but that is to be expected. Very nice case included.

Appears to be well made
Good image from what I could deduce during the day. Have not used at night yet but I am sure this may be the best performing binoculars possible. Returned a Celestron pair, Orion is definitely a step up. I have the base model so if you want a tripod 10 pound pair and do not mind spending over $300, those are slightly more magnification, useful information. Personally did not want to spend that much, these are perfect for me, can be held without too much trouble, 4 pounds.

meh
I bought them to look at the stars and you can't see anything. It's too dark and they aren't strong enough.

Great binoculars!
Great binoculars for astronomy. Also nice for identifying that high-flying plane overhead. These are HEAVY! If you're used to smaller 7x35 bino's then get ready for a workout- you have been warned. I just ordered a heavy duty tripod just for these. Make sure you have a tripod adapter too. Since each eyepiece is adjustable you will have to refocus for closer objects, such as a far off boat on a lake. But once you get them set for viewing the moon or stars then they'll stay pretty much focused. Highly recommended if you're just starting out in astronomy (like I am) and not quite ready to buy a telescope yet. I understand that many astronomers use big binoculars to supplement their telescopes. Highly recommended.

You get what you pay for and then you pay more when you ship it back.
I'm gonna go with the standard cliche, "you get what you pay for" . The joints between the object barrel and the main body were visibly out square on both sides. The left barrel showed unacceptable smudging when viewing Jupiter, so much that you were better off looking through only one side. And then, you don't get your shipping charges back,so in essence I paid 40 dollars to test and reject the product . I accidentally shipped back my tripod adapter, that brings the total to 52 bucks . -*****
