Q: how heavy are these? we are looking to tie them to a balloon and release them. we need to make sure they will still allow the balloon to float

DO NOT RELEASE BALLOONS INTO THE AIR!!! It may seem like a nice gesture to send messages to heaven but when the balloons pop and return to the ground they can cause serious injuries and death to animals! Both wild and peoples pets! Not nice. Please use biodegradable lanterns or other eco friendly things for this purpose.

Q: Is the 4" length strictly the rectangular part of the tag? Or is it 4" including the scalloped design?

The 4" includes the scalloped design when you measure from the bottom to the very top. The strictly rectangular area is 3".

Q: Is the string long enough to tie around the lid of a wide mouthed mason jar?

The string comes in a ball.. it is not precut. so you can cut it to whatever length you want and attach to tags, then to jars.

Q: What is the twine made of — is it vegan?

Not sure, but it’s definitely not leather. More like a thicker/stronger yarn.
