Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Google Pixel Case (2016) - Black

I cannot say enough good things about this case. I have been meaning to write a review on this thing for a while and this past weekend an event that topped them all forced my hand to write a review, so here it is.Initially I thought this case was cheap and too flimsy to give any kind of protection for my phone. I have dropped my phone probably 100 times since I bought this case and with each drop my confidence grows. People look when I drop the phone and the look on their face is priceless as I casually bend over with extreme confidence that my phone screen is not broken. The case has little "pockets" in the corners that gives some additional drop protection. It doesn't seem like much but it must be more than enough. I have bounced my phone on its corner even had it land face down. This case provides a "lip" on the front to protect the screen from any damage. I am sure a rock or something smaller than the width or length of the screen could cause damage but so far so good.My last event was one that I would consider over the top. I was on a carnival ride just starting to swing upwards (approximately 20 feet off the ground, moving at about 10 miles an hour), when all of a sudden I felt my phone slide out of my front pocket, down the seat where I heard it klank against the underneath side of my seat. I then watched painfully as my phone flipped end over end towards a group of people. Luckily it flew about 15 feet, flipping end over end before it hit the concrete with a loud thud. I laughed in disbelief as I had to come to terms with getting a new phone.At the end of the ride, my wife and youngest daughter had received my phone from the crowd and as they walked toward me with my phone they both looked at my phone with a concerned look on their face. I was sure the screen was shattered and when they handed me my phone the screen was still in-tact and operating normally. I am not sure how it survived but I have to think that this case attributed to its survival. I will never buy another brand of case for my phones.PROS:Light, adds little girth, easy to hold and doesn't get in the way.CONS:Only one I have found is the little grooves on the back tend to get dirt trapped in them and are tough to clean, but can be cleaned.

I got this case after my previous case got ruined after dropping my phone in a puddle. Before now I've always used a bulky Unicorn Beetle as I believed they were the only case that would truly protect my phone. Nowadays though, phones are much more durable and this case is perfectly suited to survive normal falls on hard surfaces. I could see it failing to protect the phone if it fell on an non flat surface (such as the edge of brick steps), but the chance of that happening is relatively rare.The case is the perfect thickness and isn't slick so it's very comfortable in your hand. The power button cover has a different texture than the volume buttons which makes it very easy to tell the difference. The back of the case is also flat so if you use a Popsocket like me, it will stay on well.The design of the case is perfect. You can tell it's modeled to be as close to the original Pixel design as possible. The back of the case also has a contrast between the upper third of the phone from the lower two thirds just like how the bare phone is. There is a line on the edge of the case near the top and the bottom just like the Pixel. The branding on the phone is also blends in well with the case. It's noticeable if you look closely at the phone, but the etching is monochromatic so it's not garish like some other cases are.When I eventually replace my phone, I will look to get a case from this same brand.

Great case for a great phone. I'm reviewing the normal (non-XL) version of the Pixel. This case makes the phone slightly more bulky, but if you usually use cases then it won't be a deal-killer (even if you don't usually use cases, it's still not, in my opinion). Spigen pays quite a bit of attention to detail, and this case has held up for several months. The case moves up around the bezels of the phone so they don't look so large compared to newer phones with the bezel-less trend (expected to be resolved with the Pixel 2) and so the phone sits slightly off the ground to prevent screen scratches. As there isn't a camera bump, the same goes for the back. I also like how they specifically made the power button serrated so that you can tell the difference between it and volume up/down. The design on the back marks the area of the Pixel that is made out of glass, and it looks pretty nice. There's also a checkered-pattern on the bottom that makes the case a bit more interesting.I haven't dropped my phone yet (yay!), but I have no doubt that this will protect it. Of course, I also use it with a screen protector and Gorilla Glass is pretty resistant anyway. The case does feel a bit flimsy when you take it out of the box but feels pretty solid as soon as you put it on the phone. There's also a bit of a gap between the corners of the case and the phone, I would assume that is to transfer some of the stress to the sides where it will be more resistant.My only disappointment is that Spigen didn't go for a more detailed camera cutout. There's quite a bit of dust and stuff that accumulates there between the flash and camera, and it would be nice if they had separate holes like on some other cases. I hope they change this with their next cases for the Pixel.

What a grt product, no comments just a grt one. Bought it for my pixel and this cover added more value to my mobile.

Esta funda es para el Google Pixel 2016 de 5"Hace casi un año que viaje a USA y pude adquirir mi Google Pixel, lo adquirí en USA y compré una funda de las oficiales de Google, pero al cabo del tiempo necesité cambiarla, así que me di a la tarea de buscar una funda, por lo general uso marcas como Otterbox, UAG o Spigen y de las debo decir pocas opciones que encontré en Amazon, esta Spigen es la que más me convenció, primero por la calidad de Spigen, segundo por que no le agrega mucho peso ni volumen al equipo, y sobre todo lo hace más fácil de manejar, no se te resbala como si lo tuvieras sin funda. Es una sola pieza de TPU y algo que me agrada es que tiene el diseño del Pixel al menos en lo que respecta a la parte de la cámara y sensor de huella, otro buen detalle son los botones los cuales estan bien definidos no es como en otras fundas donde los juntan, aquí estan bien delineados y en cuanto al botón de poder este se encuentra texturizado lo cual lo hace fácil de identificar, realmente es muy buena funda y a un muy buen precio. En cuánto al servicio cabe mencionar que el producto lo vende GADGETLAND MX pero es enviado por Amazon, y debo reconocer que el hecho de que lo enviara Amazon fue lo que hizo que lo adquiriera, ya que acostumbro a comprar en el sitio sólo productos vendidos por Amazon, afortunadamente no tuve problema alguno y con el servicio de Prime recibí la funda al día siguiente, algo que al menos en mi ciudad Puebla es garantía

Having never used a Spigen case before and generally not being too keen on cases I bought this wanting protection for my newly bought phone expecting it would be a stop-gap until getting something like a dbrand skin for the back. Instead, I'm very pleased with the feel in the hand, look of the case and how it doesn't limit any functionality of the phone that I may not go for a skin and just keep it with the case on.The buttons feel great through the case, there is a definite click still and they're not hard to press as can be the problem with some cases or really spongy. As mentioned none of the functionality of the phone is limited so this means the fingerprint sensor is easy to find and not made awkward to get to, the 3.5mm jack and USB-C ports have plenty of space around them and the speaker/camera are completely unaffected too. While the case does stop the screen being in contact with the surface when face down something I was wary of when looking at this was hoping it would play nicely with a full cover screen protector. I'm pleased to say I've got a full cover Orzly tempered glass screen protector on the phone and it fits very well with the case.Something I've not yet tested out is the level of protection to drops but there is some thickness to the edge of the phone so it does give a greater level of protection. This obviously comes at the slight cost of the phone being slightly taller, wider and thicker but it's not significant and doesn't make it unwieldly. All in, especially with the cost (£9.99 when purchased on 7/11/2016) in mind, I can whole heartedly recommend the case!

I originally had a Spigen case for my former phone, a OnePlus X. Alas, it fell for probably the 50th time and my screen shattered. I liked the appearance, feel, quality and the lightweightedness of the old case, so when I upgrade, I thought why not?APPEARANCE: 4/5I own a "Very silver" model, so this matte black against a white edge isn't superbly attractive. However, the actual case has minimal seams (right corner, difficult to detect), smooth edges surrounding the edge, and has a textured (horizontally grooved) panel and a small strip of carbon fiber on the back which breaks up the monotony. Oil from fingerprints does not appear to adhere/impress upon the case.MATERIAL & QUALITY: 5/5Non-stop flexible polymer, matte, sturdy. No flimsy attachments or manufacturing flaws (e.g rough edges, dents). Appears easy to clean with soap and warm water if something does stick to it; integrity seems like it'll stay in tact.DESIGN & FIT: 5/5All buttons available and sensitive to touch as if there wasn't a case; flushed to the body, adds almost negligible bulk, superbly light. Snug fit, no shifting whatsoever. Taking on and off is relatively easy, no excessive force required. Lip wraps around the beveled metal edge of the phone. I personally like how it's one piece.FUNCTION: N/AHave yet to drop it. Who knows? Looks sturdy enough, as if it'll absorb impact from perhaps a fall a meter above a hardwood floor.

Cases for phones are always a trade off. You want to secure your phone from any impact damage, but you also don't want to make it feel bulky and detract too much from the appearance of the phone.This Spiegen soft case probably is the best balance of appearance and functionality. Not as bulky as many other cases, but still makes your phone feel very secure. It has already passed its test on a few drops. The buttons on the side are great, possessing the same texture as the pixel does and gives nice smooth clicks.The black version has a nice matte look and a bit of detail on the back. I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber and I would have liked the back to be a little less slippery, maybe by extending the textured pattern on the top to the rest of the back. I prefer the look of hard cases but this definitely feels better at protecting my precious phone and it's actually a nice benefit that I can more easily remove the case for the routinely removal of dust and dirt.Spend quite a bit of time hunting down the perfect case for my phone. This is as close as it gets and for an unbeatable price.
