700 ASCP Molecular Biology Practice Questions to Know Before Test Day: Optimized for the Official MB ASCP BOC Outline!

Whoever wrote this book did not have a good editor. It also seems like English was not this person's first language. There are so many typos and a lot of the answers are hard to read because of the poorly written sentences. I've already come across several contradicting answers in the back. One answer described a statement as TRUE but told you the answer was letter B which means the statement was FALSE. I'm pretty bummed because there's quite a bit of good material. I think I'll still use it as a reference but not my primary focus for sure...

I ordered this back in October to study for my MB(ASCP) exam. The book was very useful for studying but there are a lot of typos or just wrong information. I had to go through each answer and do my own outside research to validate that the answers given are correct. I found multiple discrepancies.In any case, i fid only use this book along with quizlet and I did pass my exam. So i can definitely say this is a helpful resource if youre willing to challenge whats written in the book and take everything with a grain of salt.

The book has promise because the topics covered spans what I learned in my molecular diagnostics class. Initially, I did have to conduct my own research to verify my answers due to the grave number of typos😔. Because of this, I became very disinterested in the book, leaving it in my bookshelf for weeks. I came close to purchasing a lab CE course but then decided to give this book another shot. As I picked up from where I left off, even the answers at the back of the book were becoming more and more contradictory. Especially for those “which do NOT apply” questions, the answers actually happened to be applicable! This book is a disaster 🙅🏽‍♀️😭 I can only use this book for the questions and find the answers myself .

As others have mentioned, the book has a lot of errors and flat out wrong answers. If you don’t already have a slight understanding of most of the topics from other study sources, then this book can definitely be detrimental to your studying. If you can make it past all the errors, then the book has decent questions that I found were relevant to what was on the exam

So I read the reviews about the bad grammar. I can deal with typos. But you get a question wrong then look at the paragraph in the back to understand what you got wrong and the explanation tells me in right. It’s good for understanding the types of questions to expect but super frustrating to use as a real study aid

It is great idea to have such a book but in my opinion relying solely on it will not help you much to pass your exam.Some of the questions I think are substandard.
