MARMOT Women's Thea Jacket - 700-Fill Down Insulated Hybrid with Fleece Sleeves Faux Fur Collar

I was skeptical about this jacket and wasn't sure how it would hold up to Wisconsin late fall and early spring temps. We've had a mild winter so far with upper 30s and low 40s in January when it should be in the single digits to subzero temps and this jacket has help up like a champ. The lining is super soft around the collar, so are the down-filled part of the torso and the sleeves, in other words just baby soft all over and a joy to wear due to it being lightweight with super soft, stretchy sleeves. I can see this jacket being my late winter and spring go-to jacket. I anticipated returning it after I ordered, but boy was I wrong. This jacket is a keeper.

This item is warm and makes an excellent inner or outer layer for the season.

I use this jacket for winter hiking and city biking and I love the warm faux fur collar. In terms of fit, I wear wool baselayers and the XS fit in the bodice but was way too tight in the sleeves (I am thin and have muscular arms/shoulders), so I returned for a size S. Layered over wool, this jacket kept me warm hiking in mountain temps as cool at 18 degrees fahrenheit. I wouldn't need anything warmer unless I needed something waterproof or was planning to go skiing. What others have said about wind puncture is true--the wind chill cuts right through the sleeves. Unless you're skiing, it's not likely to be an issue. For city biking and mountain hiking, this jacket will do.

I ordered a Medium in this jacket, which should be correct for me according to the size chart. The jacket I received fit in a fairly loose, boxy way through the chest and waist that wasn't what I expected and wasn't flattering. Additionally, the collar didn't seem very functional if zipped all the way up, seems like it is meant to be worn zipped no higher than shown in the picture, which wasn't great for my purposes, either. Quality seemed good, and I didn't test it outside in the cold to see how warm it was.

Nice & warm mid layer or a stylish jacket. Sleeves are really long for the size.

I love the look of this jacket. I have shorter arms and the arm length is a bit long for me so I just tuck it under.

Good for cooler days, not built for super cold weather. Looks sharp.
