Index Bicycle Derailleur Hanger Plate with Nut and Bolt Adapter Shimano Compatible

Fits as expected and is a decent value for the money. I was able to mount and set-up a direct mount derailleur with this hanger. May need to flatten the drop-outs on this bracket. Mine was slightly uneven, but with a derailleur hanger straightener I adjusted the janger to my bikes frame and rear wheel. Shifts great after the straighting adjustment. Manufacturer need to do a better job at providing flat dropouts. Overall it's quality is good. If you currently have a index derailleur, you can now use this a direct mount derailleur. Easy to install, and set-up with the right tools. Compatible with bikes with index style derailleurs. Provides the same functionality as frame mounted hangers.

Works great. Derailleur functions as intended using this adapter. I ended up buying a second adapter for the other side and installed upside down to help keep my axle in the correct position, since my new skewer needed to be extremely tight to keep from moving, and I am worried about breaking it. Having 2 keeps the axle in the same place on both sides of the frame with less concern about the axle moving out of alignment.

I recently converted my vintage Royce Union with a 5 speed freewheel set up with friction shifters to an 8 speed cassette with indexed shifters and it worked beautifully. This little hanger made it possible to mount a modern indexed derailleur on the vintage frame. This type of hanger works on a frame where the hanger slides into the drop out and is secured by a small screw which clamps it on to the frame, tightening the axle also helps to keep it secured.

Need this if your old bike has no braze on derailleur hanger. But, takes up a lot of space in the dropout.

Need to be thicker, or cut out of solid piece of aluminum alloy. Not bent sheet metal

I have been repairing an old bike (pre dating 2010 I think, forgot the date) that was using a Shimano derailleur. The leg looked exactly like this item, but the derailleur was bolted into it (could not salvage from the previously broken derailleur). The little screw is meant to hold the item in place, but the item is truly secured by the wheel at the U-shaped mouth. Eventually that item has a screw hole at the bottom that allowed me to screw a derailleur that was of the wrong brand and fit (bought by mistake) into the bike. It's not perfect, I dont have the right derailleur, but it works fine for me as it is. Although I still need to tweak the derailleur and actually change the old loose chain.

five stars because it is what is says it is. returned bc it does not fit my frame. advise to look at the picture and make sure its going to work for you.

When I built my hybrid gas/electric bicycle I fabbed a hanger, stripped that one and didn't want to fab another, searched and found Shimano Compatible Index Hanger Plate with Nut and Bolt was exactly what I needed. Simple to mount and use, seems universal to me and should replace most hangers or good for a single speed to multi-speed conversion.

What I received had the same rough outline as the photo but was shaped differently and could not be used properly on my vintage road bike frame as-is. After extensively using my grinding wheel on it, clamping it in a metal vise and hitting it with a hammer, I was able to get it more or less into a shape that sort-of works. The problem is alignment of the rear derailleur is negatively affected by the bends and bulges in the delivered piece. I'm just going to have to order more of these from other sources to try and get one that is actually flat as seen in the photo for this one. Sigh.
