This product was fantastic for old walls that had some cracks from the house settling and a few rooms had old wallpaper, After prepping the walls I practiced with it and once I got a hang of it was pretty easy to work with! It will splatter, although With care in mixing just the right amount of water, it was worth it. The walls look amazing!! I didn’t think I could do this type of project, I was surprised how well the product transformed the room. I painted and it was very easy to paint over. I would recommend this product to everyone who is willing to do the work. It’s easy cleanup too!!!

I purchased this product to redo my guest and master bathroom ceiling. I had no problems using the product and the results are amazing. I purchased the popcorn roller brush, but did not like the look I got when using it, so I ended up using a regular small paint brush and hand painted the ceilings to get the texture I wanted. AMAZING. This product is not hard to use, it is not stiff, no water is needed to mix. I do agree that if you use it as patch work, it might not match your previous popcorn ceiling, as this product is not a true white, however you could paint it. I scrapped all the old popcorn off my ceilings and started fresh, so it is uniform and looks great. I bought 2 containers, 1 for each bathroom, to get the look I wanted.

Great product. Price is spot on, quality is dyno-mite, and difficulty in applying desired look is easy easy! I purchased a two piece textured drywall sticker sponge 🧽 set and put my fingers in the sponge holes like a bowling ball and geb did a Belgium dip directly into ther pre made mixture then blotted the walls for desired look. Rinsed my sponge for future usage and no mess to clean up, went and made a snack while it dried. 2 hours later I sanded the wall and it was ready fir paint 🎨 . Really impressed by every facet of this product. Multifunctional uses like patching holes your hubby leaves in the drywall after throwing man-child tantrum over a Suerbowl outcome or uneven places in the wall where auntie fell backwards whilst laughing too hard leaving a perfect indentation of her rump to stare at every time I'm making a meal in the kitchen. So whatever your road is that brought you to your next redo project, just know that this product needs to be in your wheelhouse to make your life easier.

I tried just about every popcorn ceiling repair product available. This roll on Homax material gave the best result. If you are repairing a large area, it is just about impossible to produce an invisible repair. Matching the texture, color and uniformity of the original finish is very difficult. I applied the Homax with a textured roller that best matched the texture of my ceiling. Rollers come in various textures, so select the one that produces the best match. Try to avoid straight lines when applying the material. The only negative I experienced is that the Homax has a slightly brown tint after drying that did not match my ceiling color. I had to paint over it with ceiling white paint to get a better match. It might be possible to mix ceiling white paint with the Homax before application to avoid this extra step, however I did not try this.

I love this texture. I rolled it on the walls with a 1 1/2 inch nap roller, it made a nice texture, true orange peel, not too much, not the noticeable bumpy texture that can happen with the spray cans or spraying it on with a paint sprayer. Although I think you can put this in a sprayer, the roll-on method made a smooth, light, even texture on the walls.

I love the look of this sand texture paint on my ceiling. I have an old turn of the century house where nothing is level. The house settled and had stress cracks in the plaster ceiling, and had ancient wallpaper. I wound up scraping the wallpaper off the ceiling and using joint compound to patch any cracks or weak spots. I would have had to patch and sand a month of Sundays to get it smooth enough. So I opted to do a textured ceiling. I don't like popcorn ceilings, but the sand texture appealed to me. I watched you tube videos on how to use it. Most recommend applying with a brush and smoothing it out with a roller. I scooped it out with a heavy paint stirring stick into a roller pan and used a thick napped roller with a paint guard on a heavy broomstick to apply it. It stuck well. Worked great, although it was quite a workout. I recommend getting twice as much as you think you'll need if you have an old ceiling like mine. I read another review that recommended going over it with flat paint to cover any patchy spots showing through, and I think that is a wise idea as well. I had ordered 2 large buckets, but one was damaged in shipping and had to be sent back. It dumped over on its side in the box and oozed out into the box. For future reference, Amazon, you should either send it without the box, or shove crumpled paper around the bucket inside the box to keep it from falling over and getting dumped. I intend to order this product again in the very near future. It's excellent.

I'm having trouble with the texture cracking in some spots, but it could be user error on my part. Better price then big box.

Had a small 4' x 4' section of ceiling that had to be repaired due to water damage. Needed to match 'crow feet stomp' look with surrounding ceiling. Was told to use a shag stipple brush, but just could not get the right pattern going no matter what I tried. Finally happened upon this roll on wall texture, and WOW! So easy to work with. Didn't even have to roll on. After a few practice stomps on cardboard, just took the stomp brush, dipped in bucket and stomped on ceiling. Looks great, and FINALLY my ceiling looks good as new (or old...lol) and can't even tell where the repair was. Great product, will definitely buy again if ever needed.

This works beautifully but be aware it's MESSY!! 😳 This is much thicker than paint so you need a decent amount on the roller for coverage but as you roll it on the little rocks fall all over below so don't paint directly above your head (I learned that the hard way lol). The little rocks leave paint drops with them on the floors & counters. It was a pain to clean after but works very well, I attached a pic of my finished ceiling and to show the thickness of the product. The good thing is that it's beautiful when it's done and it's extremely easy to wipe up even when it's dry, just beware of the mess.. use drop cloths if you can!

Amazing! Really helps and makes very similar structure even if applied with roller. We used it for the old leak on the ceiling and we didn’t really prepare the surface properly, just removed the parts that were wobbly, and anyway the result is great! The color may be grayish, so, it’s better to paint the whole ceiling after. We applied two layers, and I think it might have been better to have just one. Please remember to check your ceiling for asbest before removing old parts.

Good quality paint & delivered the result I was hoping for. I used it for my unfinished concrete ceiling on top of primer 👍

Original popcorn from 1994 built house on the top and new homax on the bottom of picture (you can see the line). Using a 1/2 inch nap roller. I think it worked out really well in matching the color and texture. Things learned: 1. Use primer to help it stick 2. It doesn't spread evenly, so do layers 3. Wait for it to really dry before putting on next coat. The 2 gallon tub covered a 11x6 feet area with a bit left over (at least 2 coats and 3 in some areas to fill in the popcorn). It's not going to be seamless but I am satisfied with the product.
