This thing claims to be a replacement for Sony Bravia KDL-40BX421 TV remote. Yes, it turns power on and advances channels on the +/- button, but one cannot do the following:Enter channel number on keypad and get channel. Digital channels are not whole numbered. Stations have a main program plus one or more sub-channels, so Channel 4 primary program is really channel 4.1, but unlike the real Sony remote, there is no way to enter "4.1" on this piece of junk, so you enter "4" and get a "no signal" message until you press "channel +" however many times necessary to reach the sub-channel you want.Mute the sound. Mute button does not work.Jump back to previous channel. There is no "jump" or "back" button.There may be other functions that don't work, but I haven't bothered to find them. I'm sending this phony replacement back for refund.

So far, so good! Zero programming needed which was fabulous. Batteries included; you need to install. It is a bit different from the original but works exceptionally well. The battery case is much easier to remove than the original remote control . Family members noted that it felt a bit cheap , for example there was a little LED bulb at the top of the remote that protrudes. However, I don't mind because it works and was relatively inexpensive to purchase.

I bought this to replace the long-lost original remote control. This unit works beautifully and controls all the major functions of the TV (in my case - on/off & volume, since I have the TV hooked up to my Xbox One X, so I don't actually receive a broadcast).

My old Sony bravia remote was no longer working properly. I looked up the model number and found this replacement remote. I thought I might have to do a special setup or something but, nope! I just had to put in some batteries and it worked perfectly!

I was so upset when I lost my remote for my Sony Bravia. The remote did so much more, than turn the tv on and off. This remote remote does not disappoint, right out of the box, it's ready to go. No programming, just put batteries in it.
