Superior bird watching binoculars
I purchased this product after many hours of research about internet recomdations, types and quality of binoculars, their purposes, and their prices. My goal was to purchase binoculars which were affordable, very good quality, which were suitable to my overriding objective, a pair of birdwatching binoculars for my beautiful wife, who is over years young. Ultimately, this is the product I selected, and it arrived this morning --- time enough to wrap a Christmas in July (2020) message on the wrapping paper. She was thrilled, and after I got acquainted with the product, I was very pleased that the product met my hopes. It was perfect for my purposes. Incredibly sharp, bright colors and images, easy to use, and with a 2 meter minimum focus range so that she can closely view the birds who daily gather at the end of our front porch to feed. We could easily read car license plate numbers 60 yards away. I did not try further than that. Attaching the halyard (neck strap) was a bit of a challenge, but after viewing several on-line videos, it did get done successfully. I'm not the sharpest pickle in the barrow, but I did get it done. I need to say that these are not heavy binoculars. But my wife has not got a great deal of arm strength, and so she had some difficulty holding them steady. But, with an optional lbrace (through 3rd party suppliers) and with a tripod, both of which are possible with the product, she should be able to watch both the porch birds and those much farther away, any time she wants. I would absolutely buy this product again.

Outperform their specs. Great for birdwatching!
I am very impressed by these binoculars. I had initially purchased the Wingspan Spectator 8x32, which unfortunately had a rather poor close focus at around 16 feet. I intend to use these often while hiking, where I often come across skittish creatures within 5-15 feet of me. I'd like to be able to get a better view with my binoculars, which I can gladly say these ProBirder's will do great with. While advertised to focus down to 2 meters or 6 feet, mine focus down to 4.5 feet! Probably won't be at that limit too often, but nice to have 8X magnification I can use up close. The controls are quite smooth. I prefer the small knurling on this ProBirder over the Spectator version. The knurling has a nice grip, so you'll be focusing with confidence. The optics appear quite sharp to nearly the outer edges of the field of view. I did notice a bit of blurring near the edges, but vastly superior to the much cheaper Spectators. I feel these strike a really great balance of quality vs cost. While you certainly can get cheaper binoculars, you can also spend quite a bit more. I'd love to compare these against a $1k pair and see how they stack up. I bet they'd do pretty well. In my case, these appear to be excellent quality, without breaking the bank.

Great binocular at a crazy cheap price.
I took a shot with these & scored! I was looking for a more compact binocular when I came across these. The combination of features & low price was too good to pass up. I was skeptical at first, but after some research, I suspect that these are discontinued in the Wingspan catalog & would have originally cost much more than $69. Their specs equate to the ProBirder UltraHD in the current catalog & they sell for $135. Anyway, I am extremely happy with the performance of the Willow UltraHD 8x32. I have done a side by side comparison with my Nikon Prostaff 7s 10x42 & the Willow's appear to be their equal in sharpness, brightness & overall feel. The focus wheel is very smooth with no stiction or slop in the gears. The weight is just right for me. They have a good solid feel & enough weight to make them easy to hold steady. They are pretty quick to focus with a stop to stop travel of around 2 revolutions. The close focus distance is insane! When I am reclining with my legs extended, I can focus on my toes! Seriously! That's about 43 or 44"! This makes for a whole new use for these binoculars. Watching bugs & such right up close. Such fun! The objective covers are easy to put on & take off & stay out of the way when viewing. They come with a nice hard, molded case & a wide neoprene stretchy strap. The warranty for the UltraHD line is a no-fault lifetime warranty, so they will be replaced if you accidentally damage them. If you are looking for a quality binocular don't pass these up. The low price is not an indication of the quality.

Lightweight and very clear
We used these in Costa Rica. I love that they are lightweight and fairly small so they weren't a problem to carry around all day. We were able to see sloths, monkeys, birds, etc. The images were extremely clear and so easy to focus. This has been my main issue with other binoculars. By the time you get them focused, whatever you wanted to look at is gone. That was not the case with these. I used them a ton and am very happy with them. I would have liked a little more zoom but they worked great otherwise.

Excellent for Birdwatching
Package arrived on time. A quick check revealed all items were accounted for with no damage. I immediately registered my purchase on the wingspan website for the lifetime warranty and downloaded the bird watching files. I reviewed the instructions regarding making adjustments and did a check of the focus features. The Binoculars have a rubber, nonslip finish. The focus nob has a knurled finish and I like that the right eye diopter adjustment is on the body, not the eyepiece. The screw out eye reliefs work very well and it was easy to get a perfect sight picture. I did not attached the strap provided, instead installing key rings to attach my binocular harness to. I took the binoculars out to the lake for a checkout and found that the field of view and the quality of the optics was excellent. It was easy to pick up small, fast moving targets and the picture was clear and bright both near and far on the marsh and in the forest. The focus between near, middle and distant objects was impressive and the clarity and sharpness was outstanding. Overall, these binoculars are very impressive for the price.

Money well spent+great follow-up by Polaris
Polaris Optics SkyView Ultra HD 8X42 Bird Watching Binoculars With ED Glass. Waterproof, Wide Field of View, Close Focus. Better and Brighter Bird Watching Experiences in Ultra HD 8X42 Magnification Received them about a week ago but it was just yesterday I had a chance to use them after following the included directions. Polaris sent me three follow-up emails, one of which contained more detailed instructions, which is much appreciated, especially the photos showing how to attach the straps. These binoculars are everything I'd hoped for. Light weight, great field of view, super sharp image. I'm not a birder but yesterday, while scanning the farmland and distant houses in Garfield, NM, a bird flew into my viewing and did something I'd never seen before... he faced just the right direction, into the wind, I guess, and flapped his wings like he was flying, but he wasn't moving, he was just hanging there in mid air. I guess maybe some birds do this for exercise, or maybe because they're just having fun. Bottom line - thank you, Polaris, for the follow-up emails, and for urging me to write a review, because without your reminders, I probably wouldn't be here now. (I rarely review products.) Best of all, thank you for a great pair of binoculars.

Wingspan has ignored multiple requests for service
I have not received *any* service from Wingspan for my Dec 2018 purchase of their 8x42 Phoenix Ultra HD bird watching binoculars. Wingspan has not responded to 4 requests for service from Sep 9 to Dec 1, 2025. Their lifetime warranty tipped the scales in their favor over Vortex Optics Diamondback Roof Prism binoculars at the time of purchase, but Wingspan has not delivered service on their end. The lifetime warranty is meaningless when the company ignores inquires about warranty and service. A thick layer of sticky grime is now on the wings(?) that holds the focusing knob in place (image). I attempted to remove the grime, but could not get it all. I was never satisfied with the ease at which the barrels were adjusted and the lenses focused. My service request asked for options for replacing the ‘wings’ and for increasing the ease of operation. All requests have been ignored.

Willow UltraHD 8x32 ... Great Value!
Very pleased with these binoculars. I purchased a Big Name set for my wife, 10 x 50, for my wife to watch football. They are good, but too big and heavy. When I started researching, I soon realized many of the scope, spotting and binocular optics are made by 1 company in China ... even my brand name 10 x 50’s. I then began to focus on features like ED glass, prism material, phase correction, lense coatings and case material. This set is comparable to those costing $300+. The only feature it lacks is dialectric coated prisims. Light transmission is fine with these. If you need to see in low light conditions, a bigger lense would probably be more helpful. It was important to see the football field, not just individual players. These binoculars have field of view is wider than most, another feature we like. We do not notice distortion at the edges, which can happen with with wider views. This set came with a semi-rigid case, neoprene neck strap and lense caps. These were a past season model and paid less than $100. These binoculars checked all the boxes that were important to us. They were much cheaper than brand name and equal quality. Do your research and you will find these to be an amazing deal.
