Great for bullet journaling - good paper quality
I am really enjoying this journal! This is the first dot grid paper I've ever used, and it's quite nice. Paper is good enough quality for the pens and highlighters I've used so far. A bit of ghosting, but no so much that you can't use the back page. (Sharpies bled through, but they bleed through anything). I've included pictures of a few pages. I'm using mostly a Papermate InkJoy ballpoint pen, and I press hard/go over lines multiple times on most pages. I've also included the front and back of my test page which has highlighter, pen, and sharpie. I like that the paper is a creamy white instead of a bright white. It will take some breaking in to wear the spine down, but that's not an issue for me. It doesn't lay flat open on its own, but will stay open enough if you bend the spine. It's a good size for carrying around with me, but big enough for me to draw out large calendars and such. I'm using this as a bullet journal. The dots line up well from page to page. There are no pre-printed pages in this, like with an index or anything. I like the matte cover, but I wish there were cover designs or more colors to choose from. Overall, very pleased.

Great journal, just got my second
I love this journal. I just got my second after using up the first. I use the dotted one for bullet journaling and taking notes at work. The materials are high quality and durable, especially for a soft cover journal. I like the silky feel of the cover and the texture, color, and size of the pages. It looks professional and stands up well to wear. You can see the one that I've had for over a year (on left in photo) still looks great after being thrown unceremoniously into various bags. I use a Uchida LePen plastic point ink pen, which I attach to the inside of the back cover of the notebook using an Arune pen loop (sold on Amazon). The ink ghosts a little but does not bleed (i.e., the writing is a little visible through the page but the ink doesn't soak through). I still write on both sides of the pages. I also really like how the back pages are perforated so you can tear them out -- that has saved me on a couple occasions where I didn't have loose paper. Will keep buying these!

Great quality at a great price
I've got a lot to say about this brand of notebooks, so I'll start off with an overview before going into details.Pros:- Affordable- Great paper weight- Made in the USA- Extremely little ghosting- Porous enough to watercolor yet doesn't bleed with marker pens- Very durableCons:- Doesn't lie flat- Dot alignments vary from page to page- Perforated sheets at the back of the book- Nothing to hold the book shutThat's basically it for this particular book that Northbooks sells. I started to bullet journal last year and had originally started off with their small three pack of softcover rules notebooks. What really turned me to this brand: 1. Super affordable, even just to try and 2. Made in the USA since I really like supporting domestic businesses. When I first used the books, my layouts were pretty ugly, but served their purpose. My boss had actually threatened to buy me a nicer planner and with the new year coming around, I decided to buy this one.One of the biggest complaints I see on here is ghosting/bleeding. I've used watercolors, marker pens, and gel pens with hardly any ghosting. You'll start to get that with sharpie, but to be honest, unless you're using extremely heavy weight paper, you'll always get bleeding with sharpies. As for bleeding, I didn't experience it at all except for when I watercolored over a waterbased marker which you can see in the attached photos.Northbooks gives pretty heavy paper when you consider that it's a notebook as opposed to a specialty book and it's way heavier than the Moleskin that I own as well. The last four photos are my comparison of watercolor on both my Northbooks and Moleskin. The purple banner is the Northbooks and the blue is Moleskin. Not only did the Northbooks take more color, the color barely ghosts whereas the light blue was completely visible on the other side of the page for the Moleskin. And with the eggs, I used a lot of paint/water and still wasn't as bad as the Moleskin. Now to explaining the cons of this book and the reason why I took off one star. My biggest complaint is the perforated sheets at the end of the book. Some will find it extremely useful, but since I tend to be rough with my notebooks, I know it's just a matter of time before the sheets fall off. The other big thing for me was that the book won't lie flat when you open it which made it pretty hard to do two page spreads. I had to condense my monthly calendars to one page to overcome this. While it was doable, I really wanted the extra space for taking down more dates as I tend to get a lot of appointments/meetings to record. The dot spaces were kinda annoying for me as on some pages you'll end up with an extra column of dots, but I was able to work with them. I know for some people this can be a huge deal, but if you use the dots as guidelines and don't care about accurate measurements, it's not bad. After about three months of use, I've actually decided to re-purpose this book. I have found that I like hardcovers more than softcovers, so I bought the hardbound version of this book. I was originally going to use a Moleskin, but as explained above I found that to be subpar to Northbooks which is also much, much cheaper. All in all, I'm going to stick to Northbooks for all of my notebook needs. There's just no beating what you get for the price you're paying.

These are perfect!
So, I bought Northbooks Dots journals to start bullet journaling, I have previously bought a smaller size and absolutely loved it. I use a TomBow calligraphy pen, Sharpie pen, and Steadler pens, I have yet to have any of those bleed through the pages, which was a huge plus for me as I draw my own layouts. I bought these books at first because they were cheaper than the mainstream bullet journal books and I didn't want to pay that much money starting out doing something I wasn't sure I was going to like so I choose Northbooks. I am very very very happy with my decision this is my second purchase and I'm positive it will not be my last. Because these pages handle so well, the ink, flipping, and the books themselves are so lightweight I have had no need to purchase the higher end products. The last thing that made me want to continue shopping with Northbooks is that they are made in the U.S.A, I strive to find products made in my country still and this is one thing that tops it for me, I am also a small shop owner making my products here so knowing that other companies can still do it, makes me happy to continue my own shop.

Excellent for bullet journaling
Bought this as started bullet journal and it's great, excellent quality for the price. There is very little ghosting even with felt tip pens.
