Sweet Jesus
Oh my God! I ordered this a few days ago and it was at my house when I got off work, I couldn't wait to use it. I've only used it on about half of my dog, a 50 pound Siberian husky, and Jesus Christ! I just brushed her last night with a rake brush, that doesn't even compare to this! It's worth every penny. I really like the button to eject the fur too, it saves me a couple seconds of pulling the fur out of the teeth after every brush stroke. I love this thing. I don't know how I lived without it. Strongly recommend for double coated dogs! You need this, stop reading reviews and just buy it. 10/2014 UPDATE: Still love this product. I'm actually ordering the short hair version for my Husky mix who has much shorter hair than my Siberian. I'm really annoyed with all the reviews saying this "cuts hair". IT DOES NOT I think people just don't understand how much of their dog's undercoat is ready to come out especially if they haven't been using great tools or during season changes. Like I said originally, I had brushed my Siberian with a rake brush (suppose to be great for removing undercoat) and still got a ton off. If you look at the fur taken off your dog you can see there are no guard hairs in the mixture, except maybe a few which would have fallen out just as human hair falls out. It's completely obvious the fur isn't being "cut". People who said it cut their dog are obviously using it incorrectly. I raked this across my own skin (pretty hard) a few times to make sure it wasn't sharp and it most certaintly isn't. You don't need to dig deep with this thing, it does the work for you. Another review said it thinned out their dog's coat "too much". Again, it's truly shocking how much fluff can come out with the right tools. You've probably grown accustomed to what your dog looks like with all that extra fluff stuck under his guard hairs. This is a brush, not a blade, it only takes out the loose hairs. I use this 1-3 times a week now and my Siberian is practically shed free and doesn't mind the brushing at all. We actually went to the vet today and she complimented me on how she didn't have excessive shedding unlike most Huskies. And any Husky owner knows these guys can SHED. Which is actually what brought me here again to buy the short hair version for my Husky mix in hopes it will work better, like the long hair does for my Siberian. I was hoping to find reviews comparing the long and short but saw all these negative ones I felt I needed to correct them. AGAIN you need this in your life, if you have any sign of intelligence and use this tool correctly (not hard to do) it is an AMAZING brush. Buy it NOW. 10/2019 UPDATE: Still love this, can't say enough good things about it. This is one of the only tools (zoom groom is the other) that my dogs don't hate being brushed with. Still firmly believe many people use this incorrectly and that's where problems come from. You don't need to push hard or dig this in to your dog's coat, it does the work for you. My dogs' coats have never looked better. I actually got a THIRD dog since my last update (Australian cattle dog) and I'm always asked how I manage the dog hair. 80% this thing! If you can commit to 5 minutes of brushing to each dog 1-2 times a week, it almost eliminates shedding. My third dog LOVES this thing and will try to sneak in front of my when I'm brushing my other dogs. He jumps on me and follows me around when he sees I have it because he's excited to get his brushing! Then he does the "that feels sooo good" kicks when I brush his back. I've had these brushes for 6 years now (one long hair, one short hair) both are still going strong and it great shape. Great product!

“Amazing tool for reducing shedding!”
This deshedding tool works incredibly well! It removes a lot of loose hair quickly without hurting my pet. The design is comfortable to hold, and it glides smoothly through the fur. I noticed a big difference after just a few uses—less hair around the house and my pet’s coat looks much healthier and cleaner. It’s easy to use and definitely worth the price. Highly recommended for pet owners!

Recommend this review there is some useful information
First of all I want to address the single star reviews making a claim these are counterfeit. Back in 2016 when my home burned down I was displaced at a hotel for several months where I lived that commonly held corporate meetings and conventions. While visiting I met a gal named Angie Porter who saw me with my service dog an 80lb white Siberian husky. She fell in love with my dog and immediately introduced herself and kindly asked to let him knowing he was a service dog. During this time and her stay my family had gotten to know her and learned about a product they invented. A new dog brush. An amazing dog brush that actually works, it doesn’t clog like every other brush and it seriously removes hair at an alarming rate. This brush was known as the Furninator a name she announced when she gave me a medium sized brush free of charge knowing my families situation (we had nothing at the time it burned in the fire) and showed me how to use the brush properly. Oh yes there is a proper way to use these brushes so you avoid injury if your dog and remove hair the proper way. Obviously you don’t want to go against the lure of hair but there is still a technique to be used. I suggest a google search or some practice time before you leave a bad mark. Over the past few years I lost that brush and needed a replacement. Upon looking up Angie her husband and self sold the company so they no longer manufacturer these brushes. I had wished all the time I had the large brush my dog is big. Anyways knowing this is a new company that now owns furminator I decided to order the large here from Amazon and I have to say..., it is the same great brush and works fantastic. After brushing my hisky today we were able to fill a 5 gallon bucket full of dog hair.., that’s how much hair had built up in the past year while using competitor brushes. They just don’t work well. He loves it.., he was rolling over, switching around, kissing me, and loving every minute of his brushing session. It took a mere 10 minutes to brush him while I had an assistant with a vacuum sucking up the loose piles to prevent them from floating around the house. This was and is a great invention in the pet industry and deserves all 5 stars. There isn’t a better product on the market so to not give it 5 stars is foolishness. The use of an assurance and a vacuum for a long haired pet is suggested and I also suggest getting the largest brush your comfortable with and perhaps the two largest sizes you would use. The larger you get the reduction in brush time. The size of your pet can dictate this size so you could go large and a medium or small, etc..., for those tighter places, by the ears, under the arms, around the buttons. And so on. I hope you enjoyed my brief history and found this review useful. If so would you please mark it helpful so other me can also see it take priority in the review header. It is important that as a user of the furninator that you care for it, store it properly, and use it properly and you and your loved one will get years of enjoyment until they dig a hole in the yard and bury it. :-)

FURminator fur removal tool
The FURminator tool works as advertised and seems to remove loose fur from our dog much more efficiently than the standard dog brush we have been using for years. Our dog has straight fur that is long but not what I would consider thick (like a lab or a collie). He is a mixed dog (breed unknown) that seems to shed quite a bit, so we were looking for a tool that would help reduce the amount of loose fur in the house. That loose fur has not been eliminated but has been reduced by maybe 33 - 50%. The FURminator is used once a week on the week-ends simply due to convenience for myself. The tool looks a little intimidating, with a long row of what appear to be sharp "teeth" that you use to comb through the dogs coat. Our dog is ~ 70 lbs, so I purchased a tool for the Large breed, and it works well. The smooth strokes used to comb out the loose fur does not harm the dog at all and is actually easier on him than the old brush (after a few minutes with the old brush, the dog became agitated - no problem with this tool). With each brushing, we get quite a bit of fur - you'll be surprised the first 2 or three times you use it. Don't be too concerned as this tool does extract more of the undercoat fur initially that our old brush did not do well at capturing. Pro's: * Works well and as advertised, gathering more fur than you'd expect * Does not seem to cause any discomfort with our dog at all * The extractor button does help push the fur off the tool (see below under con) * The ability to buy the appropriate size for your dog is a big plus, as most brushes are either too large or too small * Ergonomics are fine; the tool is comfortable to use and feels very natural * Does a nice job of capturing both the loose out coat fur you see as well as the undercoat you don't see Cons: * The extract button does push the fur to the edge of the teeth of the tool, but I find I must still grab it and pull it off the tool. In the advertisements and videos I have seen showing how this works it always looks like you can simply use one hand to comb, push the button, and extract the fur into a bag. I have not found that to be the case and find it easier to have help; holding the dog in place and/or hold the bag I need to put the loose fur into. * Using around the neck, chest and legs where the fur is thinner, requires you to be careful so as not scrape or nick. * The tool cover that comes with the FURminator is difficult to put back on when finished. I used it only once and have not used since - seems like it should be easier to use or eliminated. Overall I am pleased with how it works and would recommend the tool to friends and family, making them aware of the few cons' I mentioned.

OMG.....
Yes, I just used OMG in the title of a review for the first time. This is one of those few products that make me rush over to write a review instantly after using it - it's great. I have a mixed breed dog - bulldog, malamute, whippet, dalmation and a couple others - ~70lbs. He has 1-1.5" long wire hairs just like a labrador - he is often confused for a lab mix. I've purchased four different brushes over the past couple of years - a wide, hard plastic bristled brush, an all-rubber doohickey with the cone-like flexible 'bristles', a comb with very narrow metal bristles and something else. Nothing removed more than literally 20 bristles of his hair - they were all worthless wastes of money. I gave up on everything and just used my hands - rubbing my fingers vigorously through his coat - it worked much better than the combs/brushes - I could get a small handful of fur out of his coat. I've known of Furminators for a long time but thought that they couldn't possibly do anymore than the other items. Honestly, I got to thinking that my dog just didn't shed more than a few bristles a day. Lately, my dog has been rubbing his back into low lying trees and pine branches on his walks trying to scratch himself so I decided to try a furminator - especially since Amazon has them for $30! I wasn't about to buy a brush for $60 that might do absolutely nothing. I ordered a large, short haired dog furminator and it arrived earlier today. I was amazed after the first combing stroke through his hair. In one pass, the blades had completely filled with hair - and the next and next and next. This thing was pulling out tons of very thin undercoat hair that I didn't even know he had. (It must be from his malamute blood!?) After 15 minutes, it had removed enough to pack into a pint sized ziplock bag - loose it would fill 1/3rd a plastic grocery store bag. It never stopped removing hair - just less and less - it is highly effective. I'm adding a picture to the user gallery of the pile - check it out. The FURminator does much more than I ever expected - in short, it's awesome. My pup is going to feel a lot better - cooler and more comfortable - especially in summer, and I'm going to have a lot less hair flying around my apartment. I highly suggest this product. I would gladly pay the full $60 price if I knew it would give these results. Then there are some other bonuses to this tool like a soft rubberized handle that contours to your hand and a hair ejection button that helps push hair off the blades. Note: Some people are complaining of counterfeit FURminators, this thing looks, feels and performs like a legit one - I got an authentic piece. If you purchase through a 3rd party seller here - maybe there's a chance of getting a fake but if you purchase through Amazon (says shipped and sold by Amazon) - I'm sure there's a 100% chance you'll get a real one. Note: After 6 months, the plastic plate holding the comb blade to the handle just popped off and it just fell apart in pieces. The plastic weld or glue failed. I sent an email to their customer support with a picture and my receipt and they quickly sent out a replacement. Will remain 5 stars for that positive experience - hope it does not happen again..

The best brush I’ve every used! Worth the money!
This item is 100% worth the money! I have two mixed short-haired chihuahuas that are indoor dogs. My dogs shed a lot of hair and every brush I used felt like I was endlessly removing hair and it wasn’t lessening. A friend of my mine had a german shepard and recommended this brush to me. I had only ever purchased cheap brushes from Walmart and Target so I felt it was a little pricey, but I was desperate to put an end to all this dog hair. Let me tell you this brush was so worth it! I’ve used it for years!! And in reality, I’ve saved money in the long term because I’m no longer looking for new brushes to test out because the previous brush weren’t doing the job. I would use this after washing my dogs and making sure they were completely dry - that’s when the shedded hair was the most loose. Eventually I fell in love with the brand so much that I bought the FURminator Deshedding Conditioner to use also. This brush collects so much hair and it’s nice because it holds it all. Once you are ready you push a button and it releases all the hair. The first time I used it, it was so satisfying to see less and less hair be collected. I stop brushing once I see that the brush is collecting less hair or if my dogs tell me it’s time to stop brushing. And I’m always gently when using on my dogs. If you have a pet that sheds hair, buy this item. If you have a pet that sheds excessively buy the FURminater shampoo or conditioner. It’ll make brushing your dog a less annoying chore and you’ll be relived to have less hair around the place. Your dog will be also appreciate having less brushing time.

Husky’s approved
Worked great on our husky and removed a ton of fur. Super easy to use and made grooming so much quicker. Definitely a great pick for huskies and other heavy shedders 🐾

Dogs love it & no more fur floating around house!
We have two small dogs (mixed breeds), one short haired (coarse bristly) and one softer longer haired. Both shed, and for years we've had to vacuum the carpets and couch every day and would still end up with fur on our clothes, coffee table, throw blankets, etc. It was very unappetizing and tedious to clean. We chose the short-haired small furminator. It works great on both dogs. The edges of the tool are "sharp" like a dull pencil, so I'm glad we went with the small, as a larger one would likely scratch their skin while trying to brush curved areas like around their legs and underbelly. The short-haired version works fine on our longer haired dog. Her hairs range from half an inch to an inch and a half. If I had a larger dog with long hair, I would go for the long haired brush, to decrease the amount of times I need to "empty" it. But the brush doesn't tug or rip at the longer fur, even though the metal bristles have shorter tines. I'm careful to brush delicately on areas with sparse hair (belly) so as not to scratch their skin. One of my dogs doesn't like to be held much and the other cuddle bug usually won't hold still. After two akward brushing sessions with each, they've both learned to stay sitting in one place for the brushing and they do so because they love the brush! I'm amazed at how excited they get every time I pick up the brush. I've been brushing them each every other day, each one until I don't get much hair in the tines. This has almost entirely reduced the free floating fur in the house! Their coats look no thinner (a good thing of course) and the only difference in appearance is a straight brushed coat. This was well worth the price to keep our home worlds cleaner and make the dogs happy with another routine that provides them attention and relaxation.

The amazing furminator
I read reviews about this dog grooming aid and thought yeah right can't be as good as that but seeing as the price was reasonable here on Amazon compared to elsewhere, I thought I would try one, I bought the medium for short coat for my short coated border collie. this is an amazing tool, it removed loads and I mean loads of her dead undercoat, she looked so much smarter and didn't seem to object to it. I didn't apply heavy pressure just light brushing was all that was needed. I would say that if your dog is a cold water swimmer or a dog living outside or working outside then do not remove too much coat otherwise they dog may get chilled. The amount of hair being moulted around the house has been considerably less. I have had many different brushes and combs over the years that I have owned dogs and none have removed hair like this, I didn't find static a problem and there was hardly any loose hair floating up into my face as I brushed her as I used to have with other brushes. A great grooming aid which I will continue to use on her and any other dog that I have in the future.

This thing is gold for pet owners!
This is the best grooming product I've used on my dog. I have gsd and it's known how much they shed. Used it on him amd was shocked to see how much dead hair he had. Now I don't have to worry about his hair flying around in my house. Definitely worth the price and would recommend all pet owners to buy it if their pets shed alot too!!
