I love salmon skins!
Just not these, unfortunately. In season I can catch salmon and grill my own and was hoping these would be good for off season. Honestly, they smell really fishy and besides the added flavorings, the taste was not that great. Sorry they weren’t better and the price is high for the tiny amount in each bag.

Yummy if you like fish and fried skin/fat snacks!
I’ll preface this by saying our family likes fish and we like fish skins, and chicharonnes and things like this. If you don’t like fish or oily snacks, this would probably not be a good fit for a snack. This variety pack of salmon skin crisps comes with 8 individual servings, 4 different flavors. The flavors are spicy bbq, chili lime, sea salt, and tart cranberry. My husband and I tried each flavor and this is how we would rank the flavors from favorite to least favorite:1. Chili Lime2. Spicy BBQ3. Sea Salt4. Tart CranberryThe crunch and texture of all of them are pretty good, some of them slightly crunchier. It’s really similar to a chicharrone. We liked chili lime because the flavor really complimented the underlying fish flavor. We liked bbq almost as much because bbq had a lot more seasoning on it and the saltiness was nice. Sea salt was okay, kind of plain. Tart cranberry was also okay, only a slight hint of sweet and fruitiness. Just not our favorite flavor paired with fish.Overall these are really interesting and pretty yummy snacks. The price is high but anything salmon is going to be a higher price. It’s definitely a gourmet/luxury snack.

So far so good...
I've tried many of the different Good Fish flavors but this variety pack contains a lot of new flavors I haven't tried before. I was especially intrigued by the tart cherry flavor. I wasn't sure about cherry and fish skin, sounds like and odd combination, but I really liked it. The spicy BBQ was not spicy at all, though still tasty. The Chili Lime flavor was my favorite of the bunch... the tartness of the lime and the little kick of heat. Every bag I've had so far has been really good from this variety pack.I have ordered several times from GoodFish before and I've noticed that the quality hasn't always been consistent... I've had some batches only being so-so. That being said this batch it was great. I haven't come across any of the bags being particularly fishy, the seasoning is consistent, and each chip's texture was perfectly crispy. What I like most about this brand of salmon skins that is different from most other brands is that they try to use sustainable ingredients. The packages say that it uses sustainable palm oil with the PALM done right on the bag! So not only they 100% sustainably caught salmon, they use other sustainable ingredients as well. I love that these salmon skins are delicious and they are trying to do right by the environment too.Review For:Crispy Salmon Skin Chips by GOODFISH - Variety Pack, 8-Pack - Includes 2 Sea Salt, 2 Chili Lime, 2 Spicy BBQ, and 2 Tart Cherry - Wild-Caught Alaskan Salmon - Keto & Paleo Friendly

Pleasantly Surprised
When I saw some of the early reviews, I was a little concerned. Most of them talked about these not tasting good. Maybe going into this with low expectations helped, though. They were actually pretty good, although I will admit that they look a little weird. They have a texture similar to pork rinds. Although you can tell they are salmon, they don't have an overwhelming fish flavor. Both my mom and I liked them, and we are both big fans of salmon. My two younger sisters tried one or two flavors each and thought that they were disgusting. While both of them like fish, they definitely don't like it as much as either my mom or me.One thing that surprised me about these was that my favorite flavor (and my mom's favorite flavor as well) was the tart cranberry. It just blended really well with the salmon. I'd probably give those 4.5 stars. My mom and I both agree that the spicy bbq was the next best. They were just behind the tart cranberry and would probably get 4.5 stars as well. The chili lime would be my third favorite. They didn't seem to have as much flavor as the other two flavors, but they were still pretty good. My least favorite by far was the sea salt. It seemed like a safe first one to try, but it was too salty for my taste.Overall, while I wouldn't buy these because the price is too high for my budget, I would eat them again if someone offered me some.

Flavors are mild and good; crunch is inconsistent; expensive
I had previously tried two other varieties of Goodfish salmon skins, sriracha lemongrass and salt and vinegar. I didn’t think the flavors worked well with either, and I thought the flavors were too strong with both. With the sriracha, it came in a bag that was far too large. I didn’t particularly enjoy eating either of these flavors as a snack. However, when I crumbled them into a salad, I thought they worked fine. When I saw this variety pack, which includes sea salt, chili lime, tart cranberry, and BBQ, I figured I’d give this another shot. I’m glad I did. As far as flavor goes, I like the sea salt, chili lime, and tart cranberry. The flavors all work, and they are strong enough without being too strong. I can snack on these. Even the BBQ is OK, though I don’t really like BBQ flavored snacks. The bags are sized right for the amount of stuff you get. Granted, you don’t get a lot for your money, so I do think these are a bit overpriced, and I don’t really think the pork skin appearance works for these because I think that has led to these not being as crisp as they should be. Some of the pieces are actually kind of chewy. But if the expense isn’t really an issue, and you’re fine with the unevenness of the crispiness (maybe they would get fully crisp in a toaster oven for a bit?), these are pretty good.
